Hate to break it to you, shags - your opinion of players or the team has **** all bearing on whether NMFC is going to win a premiership or not. And I can honestly say that's a bloody good thing, because many - well most - of your opinions are toxic, ignorant and ill-informed.

You are welcome to your gutter opinion. God knows I don't want it. But constantly subjecting everyone to your diatribe and bile-ridden keyboard spew is growing tiresome and bringing down the forum atmosphere.

You're right - although not legislated, free-speech is indeed welcomed in Australia, and BigFooty. That doesn't mean we have to sit hear and cop that bullshit, infantile conspiracy theory rubbish with a smile on our face. I think I can speak for many/most when I say that if you want to peddle that crap you can **** off to Russia, as you mention...

...with all due respect, of course.
Agree with all this, except for the fact that god knows... hate to break it to you but, God does not exist.

Other than that, nice prose, enjoyed the swift articulate response.

He had 7 votes after 3 rounds.

Adams had 8, as did Thompson.

Cunnington had 7, Thomas had 6, Hansen had 7.

#1: Adams, Thompson (8)
#2: Cunnington, Hansen, MacMillan (7)
So in case this was missed in the healthy debate which followed, JMac was not leading the b&f after 3 rounds.

Myth Busted.

In any event, it's 3 rounds. Who cares. How did that turn out for Patch?

As members, we can think a bloke is an average footy player without starting an arms race.

That line has been wheeled out repeatedly any time JMacs position is questioned, very interesting to find out it was never actually true to start with.

It's 3 rounds and it's a fair while ago. He plays this week for mine, but definitely needs to step up a notch.

Reckon calls of Jamie only getting a game because of his parents are crossing the line of poor taste.

Staggering that someone can identify as a NMFC supporter and say that sort of thing and be comfortable with it.
They are absolutely disgraceful accusations, regardless of whether you're a paid up member or not. It's incredibly disrespectful and questions the integrity of everyone at the club. Justifying offensive language that one uses; be it racist, sexist, homophobic or grossly disrespectful, by claiming it's in the interest of free speech or in opposition to political correctness (a phrase that is the haven of right-wing, Andrew Bolt adorers everywhere) completely contravenes the initial values by which free speech was inspired. Not to mention, it's incredibly naive when used in Australia; a country with absolutely no legal provision for unfettered free speech.

Finger. Pointing.

Nick Maxwell likes this.
I actually said to a mate on Friday night that at the moment J Mac is a poorer version of Nick Maxwell.

He is very good at finger pointing but he is also very good at acknowledging his mistakes to teammates by holding his hand up(not alone in this area)

I'm a big wrap for Jamie, especially his leadership and what he brings to the side from a morale POV, although I do find it unusual how easily he walks back into the 22.
Which raises questions for the selection committee, not Jamie himself of course. He's had a tough injury run and is giving his all despite being underdone. I just look forward to him having a run of games, at whichever level, so he can display his best form. Reading or, more likely these days, hearing second hand about some of the bullshit written about him by his own club's supporters must be heartening for him anyway, NOT!

As long as by "average" we mean "not below average", or somewhere in the middle of the 800 listed players, sure. AFL ratings have him in the low 300s. That's well worth his place on the list and in the 22.

He's not about to show up in Mofra's bottom 50 at the end of the season.

What were people's thoughts tonight?

I thought he got to better spots and was more involved tonight.

Couple of awful turnovers and bad misses for goal but in general improved on last week slightly.

Tell you what. I'll wave the flag for jmac here. He stepped up when we had our pants pulled down in the early minutes to kick a settler. He has presence, he took on some of their better players and fought the good fight. He and wright are by far and away ahead of the plethora of rebounding half backs in our side. Hoping he gets into some form because he is an important player.
