Also lets face it, if the club knew Vickery was going somewhere then McBean (or Chol) would already be playing

Trade value. Unfortunately we need to prove Vickery is worth circa 500k+, can't do that in VFL.

Need him to dominate for a stretch then get a 6 week injury so McBean can play.

As much as i would like to see Vickery out and yes i would like to see McBean get some games because i think it is more important to not reward terrible performances in the ones .
Trouble is Liam McBean is as good as lost to the club. Because of this In some ways i see no sense in playing the Beaner.

In some ways keeping the Mcbean myth alive by not playing him may retain some sort of trade value.
A low end pick but better than nothing.

He'll walk out and we'll get zero for him he's best mates and lives with daniher they can get him for free. Who's the last player we actually let go and got something of value in return for? Jason torney? Sad cant even think of anyone.

Nope i rate him because he's kicked a tonne of goals over last 4 years in a bloody ordinary reserves team whereas Vickery and Griffiths have been gifted games repeatedly. Vickery especially. Anyone who thinks well he hasn't kicked many this year is because mcdonaugh Thomas and Arnott are gone and our reserves are even worse than people realise.

You are comparing the AFL to the reserves... If Vickery went to the 2s, he would probably own it and win the leading goal kicker award. McBean, in my view isnt much different to Vickery.
Put him in the AFL and he will perform very similar.

Vickery has rarely played VFL and when he has his efforts have left a lot to be desired.

Funny thing is the last forward to continuously kick goals at VFL for us was Jack. He did it every week.

Vickery would be the same lazy, unmotivated player in the 2's that he is in the 1's.
Watching the Hawks last night and seeing players like O'Brien and Sicilly step straight in and play their role can't help but think the Bean needs to get into a club like Hawthorn for his own career. He is rotting under Hardwick, give him proper opportunities and watch him flourish.

Let's wait to see if griff even plays before people freak out too much

You have griff and grimes names, two injury prone blokes who copped injuries Friday night

With this a late Sunday game, the club are probably waiting until the very last minute to see how both injuries pull up (and if they don't batch/McBean jump in)

I reckon I've watched every single VFL game Binary has ever played. He never ever owned one game. Could never understand what the big deal was with this bloke. He's a one paced plodder with poor aerobic capacity. The club couldn't even get this guys fitness right in eight years let alone develop him as a forward or ruck. McBEAN is sadly stagnating in a poor VFL side this year with a lack of talent , but watching him in the ruck last week he's showed more potential in 3 quarters than TV has in 8 years.
I pasted the game plan article and the journo got it right our development is stagnating bc of a lack of talent so DH is playing this slow lock in football . His other mistake is going to the same blokes expecting them to get better with their mental approach even before considering their development to improve. This is why our list is shot as guys like Chaplin Townsend and Moore have earned games before the Bean . I mean he has been prepared to play Chaplin (a spent and slow hack)as a forward before Liam. What a joke as this tells me more about DH than Chaplin . Compiled with dead wood like Hampson Binary and Hunt still floating around in the ones.
With DH so intent on saving his career as evident with his non sensical opinions and him being adamant that the 8 is not out of the question it tells me this guy is not intent in starting a rebuild. This then means more guys will rot in the VFL and not only will our first side suffer , but the whole list. Dropping guys for half arced outputs should increase their desire to go harder at VFL level , but if they continue to get gifted games this is lost.
Other eye openers at Coburg were guys like Short and Chol playing backline. Meh meh meh.

For god sake give him a go, does he deserve a chance I don't know but at the end of the day play the kid for 8 games and let's see what he can do. We can see if he has potential for us or if he has trade value.
I will watch the VFL tomorrow but really disappointed with our depth and hate the fact that players are played out of position and the game plan is different. The VFL should mirror the seniors in every way. Playing short as a back pocket because we were stupid enough to give up dea shows how dumb we are, now we have no Morris or Newman we have to turn a decent forward pocket into a back pocket. This happens to much Elton, Griffiths and Astbury were all drafted as key forwards but instead have all played back (except griff now). Why don't pick players for the positions we need?

Obrien has played all year and shown only glimpses at the Hawks apart form the past fortnight. You watch him go on and become a very good KPF, it's called development and ability to identify talent, which the club is poor in.
Vickery being a dud has been obvious for years and wouldn't be tolerated at any other club. Colllingwood had a gut full of Cloke dropped him and brought him back when he started to perform , then dropped him the minute he dished up his far to often usual shit.
Not at RFC , get taken early in a draft and you have armchair ride .

YOu only think he is promising because Dimma doesn't play him.
that is true, not sure any youngster has left punt rd in recent years and proved everyone wrong ...perhaps make a list in dimmas time. we ve made some **** ups no doubt and im not a fan of our style of play but don't know that we ve stuffed up too much on pulling the wrong lever on young players

Why for free? Unless a trade happens he goes into the draft unless we delist him, and just because a player wants this, that isn't the same think under AFL rules. I would think Tambling and Gus were the last good trades for us.

The hawks the leading goal kicker twice and delisted him and no club wanted him. Just saying it happens.

Yes. Reminds me a bit of how many were worried about how Post once delisted was going to go on and dominate at another club. I cant remember one of our delisted players going anywhere, let alone become even regular players.
Would love to see the Bean get some games now the season is shot. But clubs generally know their 2nds. If he's not up to it, it would be in a few key areas. Time to unleash the Bean though eh!

We do have a precedent in Miles , they wouldn't pick while in form. But he remained in permanent form and they had to relent.

Never picked McBean while he's been in form. Wait until he's out of form and the point- look, he's lazy and useless!

If Griffith plays after one week since that sooky soccer-style splayed on the ground in pain effort; then what are they trying to prove?

What does that mean? Not being sarcastic.....
