Don't get carried away, remember Griffiths against Sydney.

I do hope someone trades for Vickery though.

The worst thing about him playing tonight is we will get slaughtered and he will be starved of any kind of decent service. Dimma will then think he's not up to it, drop him and promote Vickery after he looks decent in our garbage VFL side.
How wrong were you?

Although I found that he had a bit of issue with skill execution like taking the mark etc., I thought that he knows where to go and where to be on the field. I felt that he presented himself well and actually went to the contests last night.

If you give him size, I think he'll go alright as a forward.

Only fair to judge him after a couple more games , wasn't much material to build a case that proved the selectors wrong at this stage . I just want someone to tell me. He wasn't playing. On Easton wood
I think Wood was following Jack most of the night with Morris on McBean, fanfooty seems to agree with me aswell

Glad the Bean is getting an extended run at it, as Lloyd said on the radio last night Vickery has had 100 games to show us what he has to offer.

I'm not a fan of the 3 tall set up in the forwardline and I wonder why we continue to go down that track. Opposition teams set up with an extra defender and rebound it to easily. We need a decent 3rd tall lead up forward who can also contribute at ground level, or 2 talls and a spread of smalls and mediums.

He seems to put himself in the right spot etc, etc. But he was horrible below his knees....maybe a bit jittery? Hope an extended run means he cleans up a bit.

I only watched a bit of the match so I can't comment on him but I thought that was one of his strenghts as a big man.

This is right, but the fact there's only really one pure mid in there is a major concern. We've barely drafted any in recent years.

We need to draft nothing but key position players and genuine mids this year. We don't need the best available flanker. We have more flankers than required.

Oh for ffs grow a pair mate and follow the conversations. Why don't you put people on ignore if you want to read clinical bruise free granny posts. You're a selfish poster who wants to read only posts of self belief and opinion. Please keep an open mind and thought for opinions of others.

Very poor game, but should stay in regardless because ty was no better in the vfl

**** these two are frustrating
I think calling it poor is a bit of a disservice. He was fumbly and he didn't get enough of it but he put heaps of effort in when he got the chance. For a skinny talls 3rd game I'm very satisfied with what he did and should stay regardless of whatever Ty did.

The thing about tall forwards is they're reliant on the rest of the team actually winning the ball in the first place and then our team using them. You can't measure them against the Deledio's.

not measuring him against Deledio, dont recall saying that, comparing him to our most experienced players, or comparing him to a midfielder. Appreciate a link showing me if im wrong

I was comparing him to Vickery, who he is in direct competition for a spot with

in the air, he was next to useless. a number of occasions he was in contested marking positions, but rather than attempt to mark he tapped it to ground - when we had zero smalls in the area (thus handing the ball straight to the opposition)

on the ground, where we have been told his strength is, he was weak

As I said, if ty had a great game he'd deserve to be dropped, but Ty had a shocker too, so he stays in by default

If he wants to be the great white hope this board thinks he is, this has to be his low water mark

You may as well mention Deledio or some mid with the expectation and criticism you're directing at him. It was his 3rd game ffs. And it was his first real opportunity after being constantly bent over because of selection bias. How do you think his nerves would have been? Give the kid a break and judge him after he's had a chance.

Our supporters shit me.

Let's be honest here, McBean played like shit but hey what can you expect a KPP playing his 3rd senior game in 4 years to come out and rip a game apart.

He did about as much as 100 gamer Vickery provides that's for sure, I'd keep playing him.

people expect players to at least show something. Not necessarily win their position, but show there is something there

Mcbean did not do that last night, and just because he's a board fav he shouldn't be immune to criticism. Broad copped it rightly for his first two games, but the mcbean fan bois were silent on demands he be dropped

And I'm not even saying he should be dropped. You're cracking the sands because I simply didn't rate his game. What a joke

To me he look about a yard too slow and very nervous. I think by his third game this year (against Hawthorn) we will have a bit of an idea of where he is at. Next week he really needs to step up as he won't come across a weaker backline for the rest of the season

I'd honestly play neither one if we wanted to win. Since we don't we might as well keep playing him and wee what glimpses he shows.
