Wait for the following:

1) big Ooc settlement from the Dons to Hurley, with it getting the afl nod of approval

2) afls makes Hurley an ambassador for kids footy, indigenous footy, girls footy, heck even ambassador for parking your car at the g

Then in completely unrelated news

3) Hurley decides to stay at efc because he owes it to his team mates and the fans who have been through so much pain
Gill is that you?

You can't guarantee that. A few poor losses and the FD will have no other choice.
Thats why I said unlikely.

Really though Dimma is still the first Richmond coach in many years to get us to play reasonable football for more than one season In a row and even though we lost them all I still think 3 finals series in a row not to mention the regular H&A wins in that period, earns him one more season.
As long as we bring in some decent back up, a top tackling coach and a recruiter that knows how to spot a good player along with some fixed realistic kpi's, we might still turn things around

Stability should not be our main aim but then again it shouldn't be ignored all together, it can give us the basis for sensible change in an effort to get moving forward again as quickly as possible, last thing we need is to be foced into rattling tins in pubs to save the club again.

If he plays well and we keep him, hopefully we find our second forward/ back up ruck. If he plays well and asks for a trade, we should get something reasonable depending on how well he actually plays.

Just hope he is better than a VFL level player, otherwise weve got Vickery/Griffiths version 3.0

Our situation is pretty dire.
You yourself have nominated four things in 150 words that need fixing (back, up, tackling coach, recruiter and realistic KPIs). And there's whole lot more. We're a basket case and it;s actually a testament to the quality players we have and them alone as to how we got to three finals series.

I wouldn't go as far as you, I've been around for what were really dire situations, at least we now have that thing hated by a few on here, stability, it won't win flags but is still needed to build a club that can win flags, not only that but we have good facilities and a positive bank balance all these things are needed to be successful, in the past we had bad coaches, average players and no money or facilities, they were dire situations.

I still think we need to keep Dimma one more year, firstly who else is out there to replace him, a lot of negativity for him but he has still done a better job than 70% of coaches this club has ever had, if he cant improve certain areas,(tackling has to be a priority) and develop a game plan that fits modern football by the end of next year pay him out and hopefully by then we will have someone in mind to replace him.

He's had 3 months and doesn't look to have changed a thing. Winning contested ball is not a game plan!

I'm not in the sack Dimma camp, but I'm not in the retain him camp either. You would hope the club are doing their due diligence on who else is available out there and if there is a better candidate, pull the trigger.

CAN'T agree on the coach. He got us somewhere pretty quickly, which I will always be grateful, but showed pretty quickly he couldn't get us to a next level and now plenty are going backwards under him. Exhibit A: Brandon Ellis was headed for elite category - nothing more than serviceable two years later; His press conferences are as jumbles as the game plan - mixed messages, metaphors, etc.. What separates good coaches and bad one sis being able to stay afloat in times of adversity. This guy presents as being the first overboard as the Titanic goes under.
Agree or bank balance is great - between us it's part of the problem. That is, we focused all our attention on the bank balance and little on-field. We've milked the public amid talk of top four when we couldn't deliver.

I agree with that no matter where we sit on the ladder, I'm just not sure there is someone better that is available this year.

He needs to play every game from now on tell him we want to see some tricks build his confidence and one will find a semi doozy

why not be exact. The formula to success is 6-7 games so he can gain experience and deliver on his potential. From the past data we can be confident that Altona will be circling soon. From what I have seen in the 2s Bean will come and go and dissappear into the horizon....had he had anything remotely near what we need, tipping a total imbecile selction panel would have given him a gig way before now, seeing as our FL was totally shitful, i mean how many weeks has TV done SFA? ...we are in big trouble, mark my words...this goes deeper than what we think...we are a shit truck about to happen and they better stop bull shitting the masses because it will bite them in the arse. ;)

Yes, but now we have the bank balance lets not waste it, again my main concern is that we end up in a worse position, I know to some that is not possible but history, particularly our history, tells me it is.
