I thought Allir was exceptional...& I liked the way McBean started the game. I thought McBean getting thrown into the ruck early was an ambitious call. He held his own. Seemed to do less rucking as the game went on, but overall, better than Ty. See how he backs it up this week
Playing McBean in the ruck against Roughead is ok ... I wouldn't be throwing him in against Goldstein or Nic Nat or Stefan Martin in a hurry.

McBean needs a run of games. He has the ability to be a useful 2nd tall. He's not your stay at home monster and should never be played as such. But as a foil to JR could be great.

My big issue with our talls is that they should be rotating and generally when the ball is outside 50 there should be one at FF and maybe one at CHF. We have mobile skilled tall forwards, that can stretch a defense by constantly moving down the ground and creating mismatches. But we play a static game plan - except for JR. McBean could be great as a mobile forward, that also plays lead up and crumbing type roles.

I thought McBean did a couple of good things that wouldn't earn him stats. He ran at the footy coming off the bench and slipped the ball from a Dogs player who was in a mile of space. Got a couple of little taps from under a pack. Chased well. Competed in the air. Shepharded through a goal.

It wasn't a ball-tearing, game-changing performance, but I thought he did more things for the team than Tyronasaurus Rex has done all year. McBean looked like he wanted to selected again next week. Sad when looking interested has become an important selection criterion...

He's only relief ruck so doesn't have to much at all
& He's up against efc this week. Mc Kernan is about the same size as Beany

Very poor game, but should stay in regardless because ty was no better in the vfl

**** these two are frustrating

Gotta disagree with you big time, sure it wasn't a blinder but McBean had 12 possies and 6 marks, he worked hard up the ground chased his backside off, thats what i was looking at, goals will come...In only his 4th game he showed more in willingness to create space, willingness to chase and willingness to lead up the ground than Ty has shown over 8 years...

Whoever has physical developed (sarcasm) Liam McBean needs to be taken out on to Punt Road and Bench Pressed until they become dizzy, then fed Hamburgers with the Lot until they throw up. McBean's physical shape after all these years is a disgrace!!!! Which clown(s) at the RFC can proudly put on their resumes going forward that they 'developed the body of McBean'? No body mass, no muscle structure OR development. If Hardwick thinks that his Staff (and himself) have prepared McBean for Senior Football they are deluded, and wrong. Please walk away from the club Dimma. :praying: FFS.

McB wasn't far off getting 2 goals. Was on his own in the square but Lloyd decided to kick it himself.

Yeah but really what are those over the top handball goals really worth.

As the above poster said his size is a disgrace. I don't care if you have a skinny rake build he doesnt even look as though he has any definition. In this day and age of suppliments he should be alot bigger.

Fitness and conditioning have a lot to answer for, i would get rid of them all, to many of players are skinnier than majority of other teams players!

WTF are you talking about? he had 6 possessions and 2 marks, and he did SFA chasing up the ground

Your stata are wrong but you also cannot use Tyrone Vickery as the benchmark.

All im saying is lets give him a chance in the seniors, if he's at the club next year and beyond and plays 20, 30 odd games will be in a better position to critique him....

Yeah I get that and happy to play the kid, but unless he starts putting on bulk and taking grabs he is no good to us. No point having a crumbing 202cm player.

McBean is an odd one... As a 32 yo bloke who has struggled to put on weight (except the last year where my metabolism has calmed down) all my life, I know how bloody hard it is even when scoffing 6 meals, protein shakes and daily weights sessions. I don't necessarily blame the fitness staff for mcbean as some bodies just don't want to put on size and definition especially when you throw in a lot of cardio into the equation.

But he needs to find a few tricks quickly as beating up on vfl standard defenders isn't going to cut it. he need to become a tackling machine in the forward half

you actually need to get your facts rights

Look at the date of my post that you replied to

it was BEFORE the Essendon game idiot

So yes ok u are stating the dogs game where i was talking bout the ess game fair enough but u obviously knew i was talking bout the ess game cause someone who is having a crack at a 3rd gamer (dogs game) would surely know beanies stats from yesterday...So instead of simply saying hey man think ur got ur games crossed u come huffing n puffing like some big shot...

So u viewed beanies game as very poor against the dogs ffs its his 3rd game first game in a year, 200cm+ with little senior experience most know he needs a run of games maybe when he's played 20 or 30 we can ascertain better.
Look at Griff was gifted soo many games early on but he was given those multiple chances and is looking good...Time will tell on Liam I'm just happy he's getting game time the rest is up to him....

No need to be calling anyone idiot especially when an honest mistake of discussing a players output on different games, you're obviously not intellectually capable of having a meaningful discussion but u pride urself on having a crack at posters and ive seen these posts on the crowds board (the footy industry), membership board etc so if u wanna debate all good but if u wanna keep going on with name calling etc by all means PM happy to discuss this any which way u want...
