Must be tough being a key forward for RFC at the moment. The ball comes in so poorly and infrequently that guys like Bean and Griff are not getting the chance to take marks and kick goals.
Once bean gets used to the conditions in front of him and getting in front for the clangers that come in, he will get more of the ball.

This was always going to happen, McBean playing for the first time in over a year at AFL level was never going to set the world on fire. I have to laugh at the mentality of those wanting him dropped after 2 games LOL Let's bring Ty back because that worked well for us the past 100 games.

Now that the season is over McBean should be played every game he is fit enough to play, if he doesn't show us anything then fine cut him at seasons end I couldn't careless if that happens but the club still needs to use whats left of this year to assess if there is something he can bring to the club that will improve us.

Actually no it wasn't obvious i hadn't read through it all and that's being honest.
I only had a crack in defence but k lets leave that there...
Trust me on this if Liam had played 30 games and his output was pitiful ill be pointing that out like i do with Ty, all im saying is he has played 3 games (up to that dogs game) we need to cut these players some slack...

Lennon has been unfairly treated imo but i think he too will get his chance in the coming week or 2 has played well last few weeks, on ball too, guess he needed to add another string to his bow....

Lambert deserved criticism more so that he didn't just stink it up for one or 2 games it was like 8-9 straight well 1-2 good games out of say 10-12...

Against ess i was on the AFL members wing and mcbean was leading up half fwd/wing and marking several times, he chased his opponents like buckery he didnt catch em but he chased that i liked and he's movement around the fwd 50 was good...

v the dogs he was so so maybe even lost but i looked at that game hey great he's now getting his chance he needs as u said some leeway more so to get up to speed of playing in the seniors...

I thought he contested very well, brought the ball to ground for the little fellas, tackled, stayed in the contest and led up a few times quite nicely.
He just has to find the ball a few more times and become a dangerous option inside 50. So all the work rate stuff is great but won't help him in the long run. He has to get the pill more.
I'm glad he's getting the chance.

IMO all he needs to do is keep bettering his effort every week. Actually worked very hard on Saturday and there were a few things that he did that wouldn't have been reflected on the stat shdeet, which most clubs love (but not us where stats are the be all and end all). As I said just needs to get better every week and his game v Essendon was much better than the Bulldogs game. I'll back him to be better again this week.

Unless he shows something this week and kicks at least a couple of goals - I fear McBean may have played his last game at AFL level :(. His biggest issue is that he is scared. He doesn't crash the packs because he fears he may get hurt and doesn't seem to demand the ball from the midfielders. He spends too much time looking to crumb the ball or get it over the back. Just needs to believe in himself and fight for the ball, fight for his team mates and fight for his career!

I tend to agree but they do have the dilemma that if they dont play Vickery again his value will drop considerably, they probably need to bring Vickery back at some stage and hope he shows something to up his value, maybe rest Griff as I doubt we will let him go he really does have promise if not consistency.

I think McBean should still be played. Got nothing to lose.

He moves well enough so any encouragement and confidence he can get from AFL experience in the belief inspiration department will be a win.

Frankly, I think McBean needs to eat more of a cow and get hard on the leg curls and so forth in the gym before he can really take bigger steps!!!

Even so I think his movement for a big man is encouraging, he just needs to add size and fitness more than anything!

Leave vickery in the twos. Didnt affect yarrans value much. Can still force a trade and the blues 2nd rounder is about fair anyway.

Absolutely. He can't impose himself in contests, so he's in that awkward stage where he just gets bodied out, but yeah he's still doing the right things.
Might send him some Domino's vouchers for Christmas.

I never get tired of saying this, but Vickery through his own inept performances and the club through poor selection dropped Vickery's value.
Had he been dropped when he should have around round five he might have fought his way back into the team and played well. But we oversaw a plummeting in his value by continuing to pick him.
Let's say we bring him back and he magically boots six against the Saints, it ain't gonna automatically get some club to offer him an extra $150,000-$200,000 a year when Ty has been on show for 14 games all year and done nothing. He's done!!

Yeah but you forget thgat it was us who parted with two second rounders for Yarran and also a second rounder for another twos player in Hampson. No one quite recruits like us!

Agree. IMO, he's now fatally flawed. (Still think the Cox incident and suspension had a profound effect on him.)
