Actually worked very hard on Saturday and there were a few things that he did that wouldn't have been reflected on the stat shdeet, which most clubs love

Agreed.

I saw him shephard, spoil and even knock the ball out of a few packs. There were also one or two occasions where he led straight up the guts from the goalsquare and the forward line just opened up behind him.

He doesn't need to kick many goals to improve the team.

I never get tired of saying this, but Vickery through his own inept performances and the club through poor selection dropped Vickery's value.
Had he been dropped when he should have around round five he might have fought his way back into the team and played well. But we oversaw a plummeting in his value by continuing to pick him.
Let's say we bring him back and he magically boots six against the Saints, it ain't gonna automatically get some club to offer him an extra $150,000-$200,000 a year when Ty has been on show for 14 games all year and done nothing. He's done!!
Not really disagreeing, although if he did come back and kick 6 I do think it would up his value to say a Brisbane Lions but doubt very much he has 6 in him anyway whereas I do think Griff has a few bags in him if he starts to realise his potential.

IMO all he needs to do is keep bettering his effort every week. Actually worked very hard on Saturday and there were a few things that he did that wouldn't have been reflected on the stat shdeet, which most clubs love (but not us where stats are the be all and end all). As I said just needs to get better every week and his game v Essendon was much better than the Bulldogs game. I'll back him to be better again this week.
I would be getting lots of games into him and try to increase his size over the summer and next year, with some weight he looks like he may be able to impact games, was in the right place a few times last week.

I tend to agree but they do have the dilemma that if they dont play Vickery again his value will drop considerably, they probably need to bring Vickery back at some stage and hope he shows something to up his value, maybe rest Griff as I doubt we will let him go he really does have promise if not consistency.

Yarran's value didn't drop much and if the football world understands that TV wants to go to Carlscum then they'll pay whatever is needed to get him....

I'd like key forwards to kick goals.... strange view but it's what I would like.

Hopefully the boys look after mcbean this week when he's in a dangerous position. If he gets Gibson you know he wont show the bean any respect and look to peel off him to go 3rd man up. They're gonna be hoping jack plays up the ground and be wary of Griffiths after last week. Beans height will be a problem for them. Hopefully we play daring fast moving footy give menadue, markov and b Ellis licence to play on at all costs and bombard their backline into submission they're too good at organising their defense we cant be slow this week. I'd rather lose by ten goals trying to run these old farts off their feet than try chip it around. That worked last few years against them but unlike us their game plan evolves, doesn't stagnate. Shut down hill and Isaac smith and their tired slow legs will be their weakness. Try and outmatch them disposal wise by chipping it around delivering it slowly to forward line we're doomed. Move it fast get it down to the bean with rioli feasting on the crumbs front and square. TIME TO FLICK THE BEAN!!!!!!!!!

Me too.

We did have one who was kicking goals, but I honestly think McBean has been an improvement. If he can kick a few as well, he'll be a vast improvement.

There's a lot of chemistry involved in a functional forward line which puts McBean at a disadvantage but he does a lot of nice little things that make him a dangerous player.

He should be played for the rest of the year because he has shown he can kick bags in the VFL and it is only a matter of time before he starts scoring more goals in the AFL

Honestly think TV at his best is a very good player.... seldom see it though. Not sure how good McBean will be at his best but in all honesty I'm not expecting too much at this stage. I think both will be surpassed before long. However McBean has shown more in his last 2 games than Vickery did in his last 6 (which is why he should have been dropped earlier).

Handled awfully by the club, deserves to go to a club that will treat him better with a forward coach that can actually direct a forward line.

Tried his best and battled hard, looked to have skill, you can't judge a tall after 3 games and drop him for someone like Vickery coach.
Competed at ground level and applied a few tackles ... we know Ty won't!
