Wow, McBean out the door at year's end, Elton as good as gone, Vickery likley to be traded and Chaplin retired ... our key position stocks are threadbare.
Leaves Rance, Riewoldt, the ever inconsistent Griffiths and Astbury. Good luck getting back up the ladder with that.
That's why we are duty bound to try and continue developing McBean.

Markov might be able to do a Joel Bowden and hold CHB for a little while. McIntosh maybe?

Yep, brings the ball to ground and then reacts quickly with gadget arms. Problem is he'll never take a mark unless he gets some separation on the defender, struggled with that but game plan changes could help.

Josh Kennedy and Jeremy Cameron would struggle with our game plan.

Liam, message from Dimma for you mate

I have not been filled with confidence by Liam.... but find it strange that he hasn't been given the rest of the season.... Just in case he showed something.

Also think it's strange we went away from Dimma's preferred 3 tall forward setup.... especially without Lids and Lennon to play as a third lead up tall....

Will be full forward for Coburg next year. DH has reduced his career to a VFL player at best. Cannot see him on an AFL list in 2017.

So Hardwick took away the immense skill, speed, marking and goalkicking talent from the great McBean?
Fair.

Nope he failed him in his development and totally destroyed his confidence. Hey mate their are about twenty other blokes before him with the same feat and we have a truckload still on our list made up of first second and third rounders that are heading the same way. DH and his FD are player killers.

You speak as if he is a neglected child...

Lol another rewriting of history.
I dont think anyone has talked up McBeans attributes except at VFL level.

Without any doubt at all the conflict on here concerning Vickery and McBean has been all about preferential treatment and one rule for some and a differing rule for others.

No one can argue that Vickery"s season has been appalling. with this in mind the call has been for Bean to be played because we just could not keep on rewarding such horrid performances. Not an unreasonable call imo. The other simple reason was to see what he has to offer and give him a decent run at it for 4 or 5 weeks. It is not as if winning is everything atm.Smart footy clubs in our position are putting games into kids and looking at youth to see what they have to offer.
The Beaner was kicking 4 or 5 goals at times and totally ignored in preference for a player who has been so bad just about the entire tiger army have voiced their displeasure.

Personally i think it a mistake and another misreading of how to go about things by dropping McBean in favor of Vickery when McBean was made to wait so long to get a game and Vickery was given so many chances after so many lousy performances. Hmm it smacks of double standards and who can blame anyone for thinking it. . What exactly has Vickery worked on and actually improved to warrant a game anyway.

Personally i have great issues with McBean a bloke who is 200cm, skinny and lacking strength. I personally have grave issues with his ability in the air which for a 200cm is a prerequisite to success. Yet even with all these concerns i would rather we give him more games than bring in Vickery for all the wrong reasons.

You know what i can even understand why McBean has been dropped he has done little that is fair enough.
What irks is instead of trying another youngster like Moore or even Elton we bring back a bloke who has already had so many opportunities, who clearly has not earnt a spot and not been asked to meet basic kpis like others have been.

Moore and Elton were hitting the packs hard in the VFL, did a lot of contested work while TV was hardly breaking a jog and playing the loose man 30m out. He is so insipid I cannot believe even a guy like Chocco can't get into him. His efforts were so poor for three quarters and his last was only acceptable bc we were kicking with a strong breeze and so much footy went down there. Still to give him a game ahead of Elton and Moore was wrong.
What confidence or message does this send ?? Our list and position is a reflection of our FD.
THE BAR IS SET TOO LOW

WTF is the matter with you?

1) I wasn't talking to you
2) you completely misunderstood my point
3) it wasn't an open invitation for yet another long winded rant. TL;DR

You're turning off the viewers mate, it's very boring.

So with a different coach McBean would be an AFL quality player?

Vickery was terrible in the games prior to being dropped.

HOWEVER......

McBean has been worse. He has kicked 1 goal (an out-the-back cheapie - a classic Ty, in fact) in 3 matches (Vickery kicked 8 in his last 5). McBean has taken 2 contested marks in 3 matches (Vickery took 10 in his last 5 games). McBean has taken 3 marks Inside 50 in 3 games, Vickery took 13 in his last 5 games.

I agree whole-heartedly that McBean has better body language than Vickery. It appears he tries harder. He certainly doesn't look as unco-ordinated as Vickery. Anyone who has read my posts knows I am not a Vickery fan-boy. I doubt that Vickery is going to offer very much tomorrow. It would be nice if McBean was given a run of games to prove himself - but he has shown absolutely nothing in the last 3 games.

You cant keep gifting a player games when he doesn't give you any signs of deserving them.

lmfao
1/ clearly you were talking to everyone it is an open board. If you want a private discussion i suggest you pm people.
2/ no i did not you made a ridiculous statement i just showed you the error of your ways.
3/ wow i think you should not post on the boards then if you get upset at people joining in conversations. Isnt that what this place is all about.
Your pissing most people off mate, WTF is the matter with you;)

LIKELY!
No forward (even Jack is struggling now) can survive in that forward set up and the way we, for want of a better word, move the ball.
The development in McBean has been marginal at best, as it has with most players on our list.
Comes down to the same top five or six carrying us, including Lids, Jack and Cotch, who wqere always going to be elite and develop themselves.
I give Dimma credit for developing Rance, or plying a big part, but he's an exception, not a rule.
The development in the rest of this team is non-existent, to the point some have gone backwards.
Yes, I believe McBean would have developed better without Hardwick and being left to rot.
Funnily enough his six possessions, three marks and three tackles in 60% game time likely won't be matched by Ty's contribution tomorrow in 95% game time, but there will be an excuse for Ty as always, be it ground conditions, weather, etc..
The evidence is overwhelming we don't develop players.
Where are McDonough, Arnott, Gordon, Helbig, MacDonald, Derickz?? Why has McBean not come on, Elton too? Conca look like a pick 6 to you? Lennon increasingly looking like a flop? Ellis after a bright start going backwards? This guy can't develop anything other than what is elite.

Then how did Vickery get gifted 14 games this season?

OK, fine.
You're not happy, I'm not happy. There's no enjoyment here anymore.

I'm done. Over and out.
