Archer weighs in:
2. Who will be NMFC's most improved player?
Aaron Black. He had a quiet year last year and I reckon he'll take the next step.

4. What will the six-man forward line set-up be in round one?
Black, Petrie, Thomas, Harvey, Waite, Turner.

Though he did nominate Ziebell for most possessions.. Hmm
I like that forward line.

No Ben brown is an interesting one from Arch. I think youll find Brown, Waite, Petrie and Black all play against Adelaide round 1. Their backline is arguably the worst in the comp

So according to Stevo in the interview the legends thing on the site:

Black will: Be most improved, need to make a statement, will be in the round 1 forward line, Lead the team for goals, lead the team for marks....

I'd be happy with that return

Good interview with Blacky there. Our forward line could be really dangerous this year. Great to see him moving so well in those clips. He wasn't tackling like that last year.

Funny how his injury affected his all round confidence.

Big things from Aaron this year.
Seems to have been the standout comment in most things since he had surgery, the injury left him w/ no confidence in his body or ability.

Hopefully sorted.

Great to hear he's already 1kg up on last year, and thinks he can get another 3-4 on before round 1. Everything he said about his shoulder sounds good, especially the fact that after the medicos doing their thing that it's apparently stronger than ever. For the sake of his confidence and output, I hope that wasn't hyperbole.

If a player takes the field they are and should be considered fit to play. Most players carry niggles of some sort into matches.

If it affected him that much that he couldn't perform at the required level then he shouldn't have been picked.

Was the wrong call, especially with an exciting young player in Wood being kept out who could have benefited from the opportunity.

Clearly they felt that Wood wouldn't have and would have benefited a year's worth of development in the VFL.

That's the impression I get, too. I hope he benefited from the year and comes out blazing this year. He was exciting against the red and blue witches hats, but even I would have kicked a goal in that game (if they left Lyndon Dunn on me, it would be 4 or 5).

Black was praised internally for playing under duress last year. I confess that I don't really understand why you would keep playing an injured player, but it appears to have been a conscious choice in the context of team structure.

Maybe they did. I don't agree.

Black was invisible most of the year and pathetic in prelim, so for mine it was a lose lose persisting.

Young gun not getting AFL time, and we go in to games basically one down.
