No, he's just a good journalist. He can be equally critical of North at the same time. And there are times when it's warranted. But Blacky is a good looking bloke and has now kicked a few so the media will become seagulls.
While it's true they're all just sheep, it will be nice to have of those sheep pumping up one of our players relentlessly like they do with Selwood, Rioli etc.

Our forward line now and in the future is well balanced and purring.

Strong marking options - Drew, Taz, Black, Daw, LT (Rotating Cunners & JZ)
Strong on the deck - Black, LT, Cunners, Harvey (Wright & Adams but currently out of form)

Our future is Tarrant, Daw and Black.

Offensively we are set. Scoring's not an issue.

If we learn to keep teams to 80-100 on a regular basis watch out players!!!!!

There can be only one...
Is Rohan Connolly a NM supporter? He always seems to write pretty fair, unbiased articles about us.

I guess I'm just not used to it.
He is an Essendon supporter. Emma Quayle is a Bombers supporter as well. So yes, there are good Essendon supporters around. :p

He was one of the few reporters who supported us during the GC relocation drama and has been given a lot of access to the club that most journos do not get, he has sat in the box during a game once from memory.

I think Rohan is the example of what sports journalists should be, when he writes he writes from a supporter's point of view. He doesn't care about the money a club has or how much market share they have in the competition, he looks at a club through the eyes a supporter sees their club and writes respectively.

He gives us the pot when we deserve it, I have no issue with that but he keeps it about football. One of the few AFL journalists that has any shred of professionalism.

She's always happy to put some wind beneath our wings.
It's always good when a footy journo writes about the footy.

Her articles are worth a hundred articles from the muck raking cave dweller they call the first lady of football.

And worth about a billion articles from the wakley award winning chicken writer.

It's been mentioned a few times earlier in the thread but the highlight for me was the bump he provided to get Boomer that goal. I doubt those who watched it on TV would have seen it but he sprinted 25+ meters to provide the bump. Lots to like about this kid he has heaps of footy smarts!

PS. I know he was touted as a high draft pick and slipped a fair way for us to get him can anyone elaborate on what his perceived deficits were?

I'm no draft expert but his lack of exposure would've been a big one. Came from nowhere, played mostly WAFL colts in his draft year, only 3 senior games and never represented WA. Also a bit older than the other draftees. Would've been a brave recruiter who took him in the first.

Cheers mate, you can just make it out. :)
Yeah it doesn't do it justice tbh.

As TPA said, sitting in front of him, it was a double-fisted pump, where he yelled to himself.

Think back to when he jumped in the air like Dorothy skipping down the yellow brick road, when he overcooked a short pass against West Coast. Well he was pretty stoked to hit the target on the weekend. I think he's been working hard on executing and was happy when he duly delivered.

Hard to go past the fist-pump as my favourite part of the play - 50/50 between that and the Atley kick

I had to watch My Man's shepherd again on the replay; it was more like a 60m run. He was 10-15m behind Boomer early in the play up on the wing.....serious wheels once he gets going :thumbsu:

At the game you could see Boomer shape to handball but Black points to the shepherd and calls Boomer over. Very cool!
