It's been mentioned a few times earlier in the thread but the highlight for me was the bump he provided to get Boomer that goal. I doubt those who watched it on TV would have seen it but he sprinted 25+ meters to provide the bump. Lots to like about this kid he has heaps of footy smarts!
He actually did this twice - for Boomer's last minute point of the century as well.

This was just after he hobbled off the park and a few mins later got told he had to come back out. Man crush increased after this...

Get him on a long, long term deal asap!

Watching Black on Sunday was the first time in a very long time where I saw a North Melbourne player and thought, this guy has the potential to be a top 10 AFL player in years to come, just go the feeling he could be a player to take over and dominate a finals series.

Had a media type yesterday tell me that the Dockers were keen on Black...
And then in today's West Australian, a yarn saying the Dockers have identified Black as a possible replacement for Pavlich....although it seems Harry Taylor is still their priority.

this was to be expected at some stage.

hoping blacky is feeling right at home in melbourne and that the club is doing everything possible to keep his family in contact with him, as with all interstate players. last thing we want is him feeling homesick. he is a superstar. give him a nice extension and some extra coin, he deserves it

One could argue, and I think the Black Panther would agree, that the NMFC deserves his loyalty. At this stage, he hasn't done a lot to 'deserve' a large contract extension, although if he's worth it in the marketplace, he's worth it. Hopefully all players will realise the value of staying together too.

Freo? ffs.

If he keeps playing like he is, there will always be specualtion of Freo and West Coast interest. Look at Daniel Wells for instance how many times has he been linked with West Coast lol. Hope hes a good North Melbourne man now and sticks around.

One of my mates claims he heard on the radio that Collingwood were also looking closely at him. So you'd have to expect alot of interest because hes playing some great footy atm, showing signs of being the next big key foward.

Dockers didn't have to do much to develop pav. Had already played two very good yrs at chf in SANFL for eagles in a premiership team as a 17yo. That the crows took Ken McGregor from eagles u17s in the u18 draft that yr instead of pav remains their worst draft blunder ever.
On topic, shower black with love and pay him well, quality chf's are hard to get even with top 10 draft picks.

He is just about the number 1 priority of the kids to hold onto. Thankf*** he is signed till end of 2014. No chance they will let him go end of year for anything less then absolute top compensation.

I don't think we have anything to worry about. If his form continues this season, the club will make signing him an absolute priority at the earliest point next season, if not extending his contract earlier.
