Agree. Especially about his kicking for a big man. I just doubt he becomes a genuine key position player.

I watched his last VFL game before he got injured. All I remember is being mightily impressed. Not much to go on, but hopeful, and yes, the club must see something in him to have extended his contract.

I wasn't meaning to sass you, honestly. More of the reaction to his signing. No one knows a ton about Watson because he has little exposed form but the club are backing in his traits and undiscovered potential over Nielson who would have killed it 15 years ago but doesn't do enough with the footy for modern AFL.

I've seen him live he can play nn. Good aerobically, courage and good in the air but admittedly a small sample. Something about him though.

Never seen this bloke play, but taking a line from the posts on this page (and his re-signing), it's pretty clear that the club feels he is a better prospect than Nielson for the Thompson role post 2019. If he gets there, it's another neat piece of list management. (Big 'if', I concede).

I forgot this bloke even exists, feels like he's really on the fringe like Nielson was, and we all know how that turned out.

But who knows, I got no expectations of him, so just wait and see how he turns out.

Move to the forward line is interesting. It's probably the best move for him as far as opportunity goes, but I have no idea about his ability to play there.

Hardly played forward as a junior, recruited as a defender. Seems like we are clutching at straws trying to find a spot for him.

Looked good in the video. Going forward will likely give him more opportunity this year. However, i reckon he is a defender. Does tgis guy have a bit of Sam Reid about him?

Don’t mind it. It’s eady for us to sit back and look at highlights and wonder why the move forward. The coaches have obviously seen capability there, it’s not like we’re short of backs.
