I know we are all a bit bummed about how our season has played out. But let’s get around this young man! He is having a cracking season, and clearly works his guts out for his team. There is every reason to think he will have a great career in the back blue.

Cooper - well done on your nomination and thank you for your dedication to our club!

Mid season pick up, which as a club I believe we should exploit more as young guys mature differently. I find we have too many “project” players on the list who affect our overall depth. Although he has been a sub for majority of the season feel like he is growing with every game and can kick a goal.

Well done Cooper!

Onya Scoop! Hope you're able to get an extended run at time on field.

Also, does anyone else think he looks like Leon Marchand??

Been off the air for 36 hours or so. Late to the party to laud our Lord. I am a huge fan of Cooper, perhaps not as big as my missus who named him “Blue Eyes” after our trip to the Maroochydore open day.

I have been critical of Vossy at times, but will not join the pile on criticising Cooper’s sub appearances. Somewhat luckily he has come on early a couple of times to offset a little. The kid works so hard, he does run himself to an almost standstill late in games. His best spot is in the guts, but the peripheral roles he is being asked to play will be the making of him. An appreciation of other roles, as well as the grounding to play them can only be beneficial in the long run. I would rather he is shifted around a bit than become locked in to a role bollocking and bashing exclusively under the Voss game plan.

Maybe some insight from Voss deploying Lord and Cerra in alternate roles while other, less versatile players are doing the grunt work. Of course, it could be otherwise motivated keeping him from CBA’s, but should produce the same long term result of expanding the kid’s repertoire while saving from himself physically with his attack on the ball while still developing his tank.

Good effort considering the coach has been going to efforts to not play him and keep him out of his preferred position. He's got talent that's for sure.
He is currently 5th in line for a starting mid spot and in time is the perfect replacement for Hewett. But for now, to be a regular in the team, he needs to be able to play other positions as well.

We need to run more players through the midfield so we don't get swamped in the last quarter.

That's 1 thing Carlton is exceptional at and that's playing players out of their natural position. It has served us really well so far.

Don't agree with this at all. Play the kid where he is best at. Let him learn that spot first. Remember when we tried to play Weitering forward. Messed him up for years. Obviously he can't go full time mid but he should be spending 70% minimum of his game time there. No one else is doing much in there.
