Not so sure about that....

He gets selected on the Wednesday night, then rocks up to Princes Park on Thursday to an empty house for the photo shoot cos everyone's in Adelaide. Then gets told he's joining the rehab group in the gym, only to be buddied up with someone named Duff from Ireland who he can't understand a word of.

Then comes the big announcement that he's not playing on the weekend.

I'm tipping a trade request over the next few days 🤣🤣🤣
The young lad is of Irish stock so I think he has the Irish accent well and truly worked out.
Great watching his debut with the seniors. Smart thinker! Onwards and upwards Cooper. Welcome to the mighty Blues!

Smart young inside midfielder, tough in the contest, tackles chases pressures the opposition with clean disposal and nice decision making…

Exciting upside, particularly when his outside game further improves and develops…

Well deserved…

I love it when we can gain good players from different methods. Every win we get in SSP, or the rookie draft, makes up for higher draft pick failures.

In a roundabout way recruiting Cooper (and the quick progress that he made) almost made Matt Kennedy redundant (or at least replaceable).

You could almost say that recruiting Cooper meant that we got O'Farrell for free. If Harry and Cooper become genuine AFL top liners it would have to go down as genius list management.

The kid is a ripper and can really play.......A travesty he was not selected in last years Elimination final. :straining:

Jagga will make it tough again for him to hold a place in our midfield and Hewy showing preseason he aint giving up his spot for nobody.

Cripps, Walsh, Cez, Hewy and Jagga more than likely be our starting 5 mid rotations IMO.

Tough for Lord but good for the club.

Smart signing and good luck to him, he will be a best 22 sooner rather than later.

1yr extension until end of 2026 👍

I get the Inside Scoop concept but even Cooper thought that attempt by our media team was lame - my attempt is below and probably just as lame

Congrats to Cooper and well done List Team to grab him for another year on the cheap - really want Cooper to get a chance but it will be tough with Hew and Cez back in form and Jagga pushing for a spot in the midfield

I know we have tried Cez and Hewett off half back, a lot of the good teams have had midfielders at half back and i know we are trying Ollie but what about these two at half back:
  • Cooper Lord
  • Sam Walsh (oooh controversial)

Good modern HB’s need breakaway acceleration, and elite kicking with penetration. For all Walsh’s gifts, i don’t think he’s a good fit for that role.
Dayne Zorko? Not that quick and kicking not his strongest point.
Still as good as any HBF last year.

Smarts and positioning are his forte.

But agreed you need min. one running quick type that can penetrate by foot.

I believe we have two in Saad and Gov.

Newy more in the Zorko mould. (sigh :'( )

Either way, would not waste Walshy at HB , he is a pure onballer.

I think it was more a case of making Jack Carrol redundant. As much as I like Jack Carrol, Lord came in and matched/exceeded his output despite being 3 years younger.

Cooper will be more shattered than anyone else for his great mate Jagga. He also stands to get more opportunity than anyone else from Jagga missing the season. Previously he was a fringe player, fighting for a regular spot, a likely candidate for the sub vest, and needing to earn a significant role in the side. Yesterday his magnet probably got shifted. He is the most likely “next man up”. Destiny calls. Grab your chance young man. Hold it with a vice grip and run like the wind. Your moment is now.

Did himself no harm for selection either with 17 disposals in just a half of a praccy match, including some rapid fire slick handballs. His issue may be that he's a bit too similar to Cripps in style, but if he can round out his game a bit who knows. I see big things for him personally.
