He's had a lot more to worry about than Marty Gleeson. He can't defend. He's a defender. Hartley > Gleeson

At this stage Hartley is really a depth player.
Hurley clearly is the walk up start.
As our list stands for the other one or two key posts we have Ambrose who's ahead of him and Brown who was being picked ahead of him prior to injury.
We then have Francis and Ridley who we also have very high hopes for too as they are high picks.
That said for a pick 68 he's been ridiculously good value and

You could argue that Hartley's form has put him ahead of Brown. Alex Silvagni was selected before Liam Jones before he got injured but now they're both fit, Jones is selected and Silvagni isn't. So no, he's not "really a depth player" based on available form.

Didn't receive a vote in the coaches votes.
So it's pretty clear that they thought he was thought to be between our 3rd and 6th best (given Woosha only gave Joe and one of Hurley and Zaka votes).

His list spot will do. Delist him and let him resume his VFL (where he belongs) career.
You really don't know when to shut up, do you?

Brown is not as good one on one.

Covered the most territory for us on the weekend (15.1km). Equal with BJ.

Not a bad work-rate for a non-mid.

Considering the role he plays in allowing Hurls freedom to patrol, and given that he continues to provide high numbers of 1%s, I think people are underrating his contribution to the team. Fans are too easily swayed by one or two obvious mistakes during a game that draw out the feral emotions rather than, in the cool light of day, appreciating the bigger picture. And there is no doubt that his attacking game is showing signs of improvement too.
