Lloyd didn't play last year. Before that I can't remember. Don't much care, either. Gibson is better at everything and much better equiped to handle a bloke who has kicked 8 million goals.
I went with Watt because he's done the job before. He is suited to the type of forward Lloyd is. He is just a lead and mark type power forward - an excellent one obviously - but thats what he is, and Watt has the defensive tehnique's and the pace to go with him all game. The other thing is because of the way Lloyd plays FF, he doesn't have to play him body on body which is where Watt starts to find himself in trouble.

You're right, Lloyd didn't play last year, but in the previous two matches Watt beat him pretty convincingly. Gibson may be able to do the job, but I went with Watt because of the - better the devil you know - angle.

Gibson will take Lucas
Thompson on McPhee
Firrito on Lloyd
L.Harding on Davey
Pratt and Petrie to play on next two forwards, helping the other 4 out don't want L.Harding to play but pace a factor.

Up forward

Grant Hale Thomas
Edwards Thompson Jones

With the bold players to staying in the forwardline deep and other two to push into midfield

Watt has the defensive tehnique'sQUOTE]

Watt having a defensive technique? He is the worst one on one defender in the league and his kicking is very ordinary.Techique...bbbwwhhaa

Gibbo to take Lloyd
Petrie - Lucas
Pratt - Davey
S.Thommo - Mcphee
Power - Jetta
Spud - to take other forward for Essendon or he can move to the midfield
If he moves to the midfield then one of either Harding or IMO Mcmahon to the HBF

Watt will play cause petrie will be playing forward.

Watt -to take resting ruckman
gibbo-lucas
spud-lloyd
s.thommo-mcphee
pratt-davey
harding-monfries

Starting like that will allow us to stretch their backline with thommo, azza, petrie, jones who can all take a good contested mark.

I think with that many marking options we should try and get fletcher and mal out of the corridor and see what their lesser lights can handle the pressure against say a jones or azza.
If one of the backmen do struggle petrie can always move back but to start we need to attack them.

One thing I do worry about is if dempsey picks up L.T will he pressure him enough as he is trying to be their quarterback.

It looks like you ave Gibbo and Spud right. Pratt will take McPhee. Petrie will take the third tall. Whoever the Bombers decide that will be.
Harding will take Davey if/when he plays forward.

I think Mcphee will play back and they will have another small in the forward line.

I think we will need to play Pratt, Harding/Power, and Wells/Mcmahon to take there short players, with Gibson Watt and Firrito on the others.

I can't see a backline with Gibson, Watt, Firrito, Petrie and Thompson as some people have suggest at times it is too top heavy.

i hope he does play. It took me a while to recognise who that massive, quick and enthusiastic player was at the Lions practice match. I'm not joking - he has bulked up alot over summer. Maybe he will now be that hard running backman we've been waiting for all these years? He's gotta have a shot anyway
