Was interested on people's opinion on this battle.

I thought Watt did OK, considering the enormous space Treadrea had and the great disposal of the opposition. Even outmarked him one-on-one twice! Have been happy with his season and with Colbert gone, time for Perry to step up and make a charge at FB.

Knew from the start that Colbert was going to get flogged and Brown should have been on Lade, that was a shocking move!

Sorry, can't agree. And I know the one about lack of midfield pressure.

I am annoyed that Watt 'conceded' about 5-6 marks to Tredrea. What is wrong with a bit of body contact given he was going to mark it anyway.

One of his two worst games for the year.

As a postscript, I'm not suggesting Tredrea only took 5-6 marks but was alluding to the ones he took easily in front of Watt when it looked like Watt was resigned to the fact that it was going to happen.

Very hard for Shannon to have done any better today. Tredrea was too strong, and had great supply all day. But as you said, Shannon actually did beat him one on one on a couple of occasions, a sure sign he has improved this year as that wouldn't have happened in a month of Sundays in the past two years.

The Colbert-Lade move was risky, but I liked the fact we were taking the punt on us winning more of the midfield ball. Colbert was always going to be up against it if the ball went forward, and he was obviously outpointed a couple fo times early. That was reflective of how right his decision to retire was - you can't go into a season with a bloke whose only possible role is filling in the space as a 7th defender because he's too slow to go with smaller opponents and not strong enough to go with teh big guys.

Bad luck about the result today, im not here to troll but wondering about a player.

Just out of curiosity is that Baird still around the mark or is he injured?

Maybe not an ideal matchup for Tredrea but I have liked the look of him in a few games and probably with his height provided an option for Lade when playing forward also.

I have heard some say he is in danger of being delisted but I think he is quite solid and with Colbert retiring must surely be retained.

He is the worst defender in the league. Any forward from the opposition would love to play on him. Just ask Fevola. He gives his man too much room and doesn't know when and how to spoil. I think this year was his last chance to prove himself and he failed. He has to go. I dont know about you guys but when he gets the best forward like he did on the weekend i know we are gonna lose.

I guess the fact the ball was being delivered on a platter and he had no support and it spent 95% of the second half down there had nothing to do with it...
Brown has more to answer for this season.

Agree. I have not been a fan of Watt but he shows more than Brown. I would trade Brown before Watt. I have never seen a player of browns size get pushed off the ball so easily. Watt shows better skills and importantly speed.

Keep the two but trade some midfielders for a backman who can take the 1st tall let Watt and Brown take 2nd and 3rd
We are average in the midfield also and need to improve that area of the team. So I'm not sure who you would want to trade from the midfield.

Don't understand this need to delist people.

Why delist anyone, wait and see who might want them.
Even if it means getting one higher place in the 5th round.

Watt had a good year, but lets delist him for nothing, that's smart Kanga20.

you are a dead set (I aint allowed to write this word)... Watt has been the cornerstone of our defence this year... blind freddy could see that... if anything Watt should be given a pat on the back for turning his career around... he really is being played out of position having to take on the strike forwards of the opposition... he should be third tall with his speed and strong hands so that he can be more attacking from defence... only then will we see the best of Shannon... :D :D

Let's not even go there.. Skills?? You must mean turnovers right?

Speed?? Oh Yes. No wonder he gaves the key forwards a 15-20 meter start when they lead so he can use that SPEED to spoil.. Come on.. Who are we kidding here??

Unfortunately Watt is our best tall backman

This is the problem, yes i agree he is our best tall backman but he is just not up to it.Golden rule of a backman is to play in front which for some reason he cotinually fails to do.

Most of you dicckheads are supporting watt only because he plays for the kangaroos. You dont understand that every forward in the league loves playing on him because he is shhit. Brendon Fevola said it at the start of the year, and know Tredrea loves playing on him. The thing i hate about watt is he makes his teamates look bad. On sunday he and tredrea were right on the boundary contesting one on one. The ball was tailor made for a backman to punch out of bounds yet Tredrea marks over his head and kicks a long ball to Lade one out with Colbert in the goal square and goals. Then the dickkhead watt goes and pats Colby on the back as if it was his fault. YOU ******** SHANNON WATT it was your fault. Also when urchy didnt pass the ball to him in the second quarter, Watt tells him off. I mean what the fck. Who are you to tell urchy off. You are the biggest fck up in the team

I agree with keeping Watt but I think Leigh Brown has to be moved on.Did nothing on the forward line and has done nothing in defence all year.Played a reasonable game earlier in the season against an injured Fraser Gehrig and played ok recently against Carlton but if you isolate those two games out of things,he must be hanging his hat on the six goal performance against Adelaide 18 months ago.Has to be seriously seriously analysed. It also pays to remember he was a top five draft pick in 2000,and when you look at it like that its fair to say he does'nt have (a)whats required and (b)the ability and nous to hold down a key defensive anything.
