Let me tell you beer-belly sheer-croppers one thing - assuming Watt has been paid an average of $150k/yr in his time at Nth Melb, that equates to $1.2mil. Now if over this time, the NMFC had invested this money into a managed fund using Australian shares, it would now be worth at least $2.8mil & probably more!!!! Wouldn't that solve some problems????????
Moot point, we'd have to have paid the money to someone since there's a minimum salary cap requirement..

Beer belly sheer croppers? Nice...

Stuff the managed fund. Could have taken a bigger risk and invested all that money in Oxiana. We would now be the richest club in the league.

Or we could trade him and actually get something of value for him...?

Nah that's just crazy talk, why would we want to get something decent in a trade?!

The idiots are multiplying it seems, and this board is infested. Time to bring in the exterminators (Shinners, Dingster, etc) :D

As much I hate crap posts on this board (and there are a few) exterminating isn't the way to go. Whether we like it or not, the percentage of idiots in general population is higher than some realise. Are we going to become fascist and exterminate them physically as well?

Replying to silly posts breeds more and more of them.

Do yah reckon there was any serious interest in Watt from rival clubs during the trade week?

Invested more in Harvey? How? We gave him 2 years, we have given Watt 7. We spent a first round pick on Watt, we spent a PSD pick on Harvey.
Gee, how can i put this. Umm f@cking Aaron Davey you idiot

I doubt we even entertained the thought of trading him, but I'm sure there would have been plenty of interest in him if he were available.
As Arnie would say, "C'mon". I do not share this opinion.

You see he was out of contract and by the sounds of what Groucho has said he still is. If that isn't an invitation to a rival club to offer a trade for Watt, what is? My point is that there was "No Serious Interest" in the services of Shannon Watt by rival clubs during trade week regardless of how keen we were to keep him. IMO the opposition doesn’t seriously rate him.

O.K, come the preseason draft, a club may consider Watt's services but as you clearly pointed out in the case of Piciaone that a pick in the PSD equates to giving up F-all.

Just a difference of opinion. Hope we can still have that beer one day.

I'm not sure what you are getting at there. It is no different to us picking Watson in the draft instead of Dal Santo. It happens all the time.

Anyway, I am tired of discussing football with you. You take me disagreeing with you too personally and then shovel out abuse yourself.

Yeah we could argue it all day mate. Neither of us were at Optus Oval that week so neither of us know if there was much interest or not.

Of curse it happens all the time, I mean we only knew Davey because he played in our seconds every week and because he won the best young player in the VFL. Not forgetting that he himself said he wanted to stay at the Kangaroos because he loved the club and it was a great club. But hey this happens all the time. :D

IM sure that you would be well aware by now that im only disagreeing with you because everything you say you are unable to back up. And instead of atleast having a try at defending yourself you dismiss the topic, pretty much like you are trying to do now.

Cheers mate

After watching Dustin Fletcher's awful performance as goalkeeper, I couldn't help but wonder if Sheedy may see fit to give Watt a crack in the next Test as goalkeeper to give Watt the chance to say goodbye to his supporters in Melbourne. Come on Sheed's, there is room for romance in football. North supporters never got the chance to farewell Carey, Rock, Schwass, Allison, Corey etc. Let us farewll Big Shan!
