Clearly they were going to rookie Hofmann and count it under that premise which would have been stretching it anyway.

The kid Cole was the other…. looks alright ..and if you were really commited …and not just grandstanding about other clubs at the trough .. then you find a way. Couch as a Rookie must be a dollar issue.

Anyway … I am glad to give local guys a go especially in roles like ruck that probably will take a fair while to develop

With changes to the Rookie List you can now park someone there up to 5 years as long as they've played less than 10 games. Putting a few local developing talls on the list isn't the worst use of it

I'd like to see a further update to this and that once a player has reached the 10 senior game mark, they have to be elevated to the senior list at the end of that season

I'm also not a fan the idea of teams rookie listing veteran players for salary cap purposes, but having a third year rookie who has 30/40+ games under their belt & is a best 22 player does make a joke of a rookie list

Agreed - the rookie listed players should have a games played cap - say 75-100 - meaning vets can’t be “Gunstoned”

Maybe, but doing this will end a couple of veterans careers a bit early. You could argue it extends the careers players who add leadership but might be cooked.

I don't think we should allow it for contracted players though. You contract them to a senior list spot you need to honour the contract
