Welcome to Essendon, Sam!

Cal Twomey:
Draper is a ruckman from South Adelaide, so the Bombers have filled their need for ruck depth with their No.1 choice. He's 202cm and has good mobility, so will head onto the club's rookie list. Their first choice last year at the rookie draft was another ruckman Gach Nyuon, who was delisted.

From don patch sword:
Date of Birth: 28/9/98
Height: 203cm
Weight: 106kg
Team: South Adelaide

South Adelaide talent manager "This was Sam's first year playing AFL from a soccer background. His evolution this year has been very good and he has picked up the different concepts of offence and defence well. Started as a tall back before being moved into a tall forward/second ruck role. He finished the year as the lead ruck and competed very well against the state ruckmen at other clubs. Has great mobility for a 200cm athlete."

Strengths: Size, Versatility
Needs To Improve: Game Sense, Awareness

Isn't afraid to get his hands dirty and provide a link-up option which is good to see. Nice mark, surprisingly agile, I like it.

Best of luck, young man!
