Why wouldn't they do them in one go?
1st List Lodgement is this Friday.
Neither of them were ever kpd depth
He wasn't going to be used as a fwd let alone a defender? Lemmey was.

I was thinking more along of KP depth, but yes take your pointNeither of them were ever kpd depth
Interesting situation Soapy.I really like the kid. Good player with improvement in him. Very popular as well.
Issue is now his type is not a need. The role he can play is easily covered
We will get Dean, Ison and likely another through draft. Leaves one spot which surely needs to be a back up Key Defender? Dean will be a KPD but can't play on big bodies yet like HOF. Young is a back up but is also needed KPF or Ruck.
No one seems to mention it but I look at our list and if Weitering goes down we are in serious trouble down back. Haynes, McGovern are next and they are not true KPDs. Are we hoping Duffy steps up?
Names like Phillips Frost Jones Blight C.Dean must be an option?
We have lost Lemmey Charlie SOS TDK from our list. Only "tall" addition has been Reidy who is a Ruck only. I just can't see how we don't add another tall even if for a year
Pray that the midfield and halfback line are dominating with silky slick ball movement and 100% efficiency going into the forward line, together with manic pressure. That way the ball will never get down thereHaving said that - not sure what we’d do against Shannon Neale or Thilthorpe if Weitering was out of action.
I’m the same.Young works well, as long as they are not playing in the same team.
Back to Will White - think he's talented and wish him the very best of luck so he can show it and live out his dream. Hope it's with us, but my feeling is he will be more of a Holman-type story.
Lions played 2 rucks with Morris and replaced Hipwood with Gallop. Hipwood was a goal a game forward so was no real loss. He really hasn't come on from from his 3year season. Also had midsized marking target in Rayner. That is not a small forward lineInteresting situation Soapy.
IMHO we’ve played too tall for most of the last 2 years and Lions didn’t exactly struggle when Hipwood went out.
Trend is towards smaller, mobile forward lines - so KPD’s not as crucial as they were.

Imagine we’ll play HOK, Harry, plus 2 x “3rd talls” (Moir & Kemp) plus Hayward, Ainsworth, Motlop.Lions played 2 rucks with Morris and replaced Hipwood with Gallop. ZW gets a gig ahead of MotlopImagine we’ll play HOK, Harry, plus 2 x “3rd talls” (Moir & Kemp) plus Hayward, Ainsworth, Motlop.
All quite mobile and not dissimilar to Lions FWD line.
IIRC - Charlie av 1.5 goals per game this year as did Moir.
Moving Charlie on was a good move for Carlton given the return it generated.
Agreed, but I'll be disappointed in the club if they leave Mitch Marsh on the board in that scenario. There’s talk and Pommyinoz phantom draft leans toward Dovaston. If he finds his way to Carlton I don’t like White’s chances of a list spot.
