Step backwards today for sure

I think he had a tough day for sure, but the opposition made it that way. Billy stands out for us with his pace and run. They appeared to have six or seven of their own Billys, but better versions. He'll bounce back.

Poor today. Things just didn't click for him.
Like a lot of outside players, he needs the game to pan out in a fairly specific way. Otherwise, his impact can be fairly easily blunted. If he's on the back foot when he receives the ball, he's in trouble....

Fumble city.

Hates physical contact, just does everything he can to avoid it.

But what he does bring are attributes no other player does on our list.

What's the point in a 77kg running machine seeking to draw contact?

Wouldn't that completely undermine his skill set?

I know I don't want him taking on tacklers.

Agreed. He's almost wasted doing it. Particularly with the "hardness" of those around him, we're better off structuring with a player that is ready and able to use their run and carry to spread the game.

Fun fact:

Billy has won more contested ball (on ave.) In 2018 then:
- sam powell-pepper
- jordan de goey
- jarman impey
- david armitage
- isaac smith
- liam shiels
- scott selwood
- josh kelly
- shaun grigg
- bernie vince
- lin jong
- ryan burton
- nick vlastuin
- shaun burgoyne

Billy is basically an inside bull now.
