* YEAHHHHHHHHHHInjury Update (August 11, 2021)
Tristan Xerri will remain sidelined for this weekend’s game with Sydney.www.nmfc.com.au
Flynn Perez is on track for a full return to the 2022 pre-season, with the young defender continuing his recovery from an ACL injury suffered at the start of this year.
This is the second time Perez has undergone rehab for an ACL tear, rupturing the same ligament in his draft year.
Rawlings says the fact he’s experienced the long and difficult comeback before means he’s ahead of where he was last time he experienced a rupture.
“Obviously being a second ACL, Flynn has experienced the rehab before. In terms of hitting measures in his recovery he’d be well ahead of where he was last time,” he said.
“We expect once we hit pre-season, whenever that day is, that he’ll be going well given he’s had quite an extended period where he’s been working on his aerobic fitness and strength.
“He’s on track, and we’re happy with his progression and how he’s tracking at the moment.”

Feel a bit sorry for guys like Garner and especially Tyson. They're still fronting up and doing the same work but especially for the latter it must be hard to keep the head up feeling like dead man walking. Kudos for their character to fight the year out.
$10k a week gardening leave for 4 years, I’m sure he’ll be ok.

Isn't he going to GCS for a end of second round compo pick?$10k a week gardening leave for 4 years, I’m sure he’ll be ok.

Yes mate because life is that simple, he must be prancing through his physio, weights, diet and non-selection each week gleefully rubbing his hands together at his bank balance.
Who the f*** would prefer constantly being in injury rehab to actually playing? They don't sit on their arses doing nothing. Even as an amateur athlete, being injured is the f***ing worst.IMO he basically won Lotto.
I’m not dancing on his grave, I want all Trades to work out, but this was always a stretch, even for them.
I feel incredible empathy for Garner, he was stiff, was a fine player on his day and true Shinboner. His mugging of McVeigh will never be forgotten.
One of the oddest decisions by Brady to give TG another year in 2021.Well said, he's made out like a bandit. Joyces at his best
I thought we were talking about Tyson? One of the oddest decisions by Brady to give TG another year in 2021.
TG should have been one of the first given the flick last year given his 8 year 45 game record.
Yet somehow TG fooled the master into giving him another year - where TG saluted with a 4 game year - actually below his career average games by year which is the very definition of list clogging.
Brady won't be fooled again and a spot will open up for a youngster to come in and show his worth.
Tyson and Garner were the 2 players in question - don't get me started on Tyson's recruitment.I thought we were talking about Tyson?
Just warming the engine up on the Ferrari.

maybe, but it was a 3 year contract, not 4$10k a week gardening leave for 4 years, I’m sure he’ll be ok.

I'd temper our expectations on the young bloke. He's going to need plenty of time.
Can't think of too many players to have 2 recos on the same knee under 20 years of age that onto go on have a long career.
