Right call. Becker a park footballer at best. Tommy hopefully pushes out that udnersized dwarf
What makes you say this? Becker seemed to impress a lot of people on here who saw him play?

I'm guessing would have at some stage been team-mates with Sheez at the Dragons, perhaps may have some input. Last 18 Fothergill medalists have gone on to AFL.....I'm guessing the club taking a perceived easy path....hopefully turns out different to Edwards at #1 in the midseason draft because all the media saw him as the best prospect.

Does seem like a nice kid, hopefully Treloar is right as well!

roos_fanatic08 Souup chubbspeterson @anyone else who knows their arse from their elbow with these state players: if given the choice of one of the two, which would you have taken?

Cos I thought Becker looked like a bloke with at least budding AFL attributes in my extremely limited viewings of him, and 190cm and 92kg is a frame we could sorely use, particularly if it has a penetrating kick. I may of course have missed something in both players' cases

What happened to Boom Boom giantroo ? Dom mentioned on FB the other day he was in.

Something has changed in the last few days, because all the talk I'd heard last week that it was Becker's spot to lose. And he (apparently) hit his KPIs.

We didn't need to make the SSP selection until Monday next week so no idea why we've gone early before the Collingwood game and made this move.

EDIT: this has me wondering if the club is picking the midfielder because the Wardlaw injury is worse than anticipated, or they've lost faith in his ability to stay healthy or something. Because I'm serious when I say that last week this was all Becker.

Excited for Tom, always like seeing kids who do it the hard way get a opportunity. Think he has some really good footy attributes that could help us out, particularly with his run and carry/link up game, being a natural accumulator won't go astray either. The added benefit of him being able to roll through the midfield is also a big tick.

I have some question marks on his one on one ability particularly if we plan on playing him as a small defender, but I can see why he was given an oppurtunity.

I still can't wrap my head around why Thredgold wasn't put on the LTI and Becker given an opportunity as well, as I really liked his natural defense first attitude.

If a player isn't signed they can't play in the official practice matches.
