Look we were thrashed,WCE would have won the game if i was umpiring, but the one sided way it was umpired was a disgrace, free kicks from 50\50 contests,in front of goal and ruck contests disrupt your chances of pressure and dont allow any flow in your game.Again another reality check for us long suffering Freo supporters.

The umpiring was ordinary all round, over officated, didnt make much diffrence to the result we were just outplayed.

Have a whinge. You are only making Freo suporters look ungracious in defeat.

Freo were well and truly flogged regardless of the umpiring, but will make up for tonight in the finals ;)

Do they have finals for the bottom 8 now? Could have a plate final, maybe Freo could win that!

It was disgraceful i the first half, they were jsut whistle happy and cos WCE were first to the ball they benefited. I think they were told before the game that it would be ahysical gam e with lots of fire so they had to take control early. They did that and riuned the game and any chance we had in the frst half.

i did actually say we were thrashed, just making a point of how bad they are.......for one team

Some of the decisions and then lack of decisions was mind boggling, but when you trail by 12 goals at 3 qtr time you can't blame the umps.

Even my old man, who supports the eagles commented several times that the umps ruined the first qtr and gave the eagles a nice cusion to work on, no doubting that. I really hate holding the ball.... or lack of.... they pay them sometimes when a player has 1/2 second, then another player can run around 3 players get dragged down and nothing happens

Yes, we got shat on up until 3/4 time. But that will continue to happen while the umpires have no fear of Fremantle.

Give Collingwood a bad run: have Mick on your back for most of the week.
Give Essendon a bad run: get publicly humiliated on national TV.

Give Fremantle a bad run: Good job boys, pats on the back all round. Silence from CC.
Give Fremantle a good run: Get dropped the next week.

The umpires must have realised how bad they were at 3/4 time because we got half a dozen soft ones early in the final term to try to even things up a little. West coast were clearly the better side but they got atleast 5 goals from soft frees.

Stranger things have happened, correct me if I'm wrong, but Peel Thunder won all 3 grades today!

The AFL have done it again.

Last night I couldnt believe the Boundry umps dressed in white. In the first 1/4 (dont remember who it was) one of our guys nearly switched to a boundry ump.

I just saw on the Showdown Cassisi fire off a handpass to an ump.

FFS !! AFL think about!

Dockers were second to the ball all night. They deserved no free kicks.

You can't get a free kick when you dont have the football, or are not in a good position to win it.

Holding the ball is the exception to this rule, you should not be tackling to win a free kick. you tackle to stunt the progress of the ball. Tackling allows opportunity for turn over.

Whih game were you watching Johnno? there were a number of holding frees given against our fowards and for West Coast in front of goal,at one point the ump told Thornton he wasnt looking at the ball when he clearly never took his eyes off it!To me and the commentators most decisions were play on,even Pav said a few words into the Umps on field Microphone. It looked like the Umps were up for a big game on Friday night footy.

Official Stats

On Fox Footy Tuesday nights Umpire review they highlighted 3 incedents from the game

B Jones non paid mark near the goals - Ump wrong

Longmuir tunneling Seaby and getting a free kick which led to a goal - Ump wrong

Bit of selective spin there I reckon.

Yep interesting free kick. JLo just stood there, Seaby jumped up over him and put his leg on JLO's shoulder and thus was classified as high. Alot of the rucking frees are mind bogling or the umps are just playing lotto.

Overall the umpiring was VERY poor.

No disputing the umpiring was ordinary and the Dockers got shafted on a number of decisions.

But it happens to every team at some time during the season - usually more than once.

It's not about excuses, it's about everyone taking responsibility for their efforts and actions on the field.

Ask Paul Medhurst how much responsibility he assumes for his performance.
