Seriously, what the hell will it take for Haddin to be dropped? How can the media miss him?
It's because we are winning, so the pressure is not there. Plus, no one is really knocking the door down. Wade plays a similar style (batting-wise) to Haddin, not sure of their keeping (but surely Wade cannot be worse...), but Haddin has the experience and is the incumbent.
Mind you, if Paine were fit, let's hope he'd be in by now...
As for the rest, solid squad again. I really hope Cowan makes it. We need a solid opener, like the English have with Cook, who can occupy the crease. I think Warner will stay, and if Watson comes back, I don't like the look of a Watson/Warner opening combo all too much.
That's why Katich was so great... I hope Cowan makes that role his.
Obviously, Katich cannot come back in. We've started heading down the youth path, we have to stay there, especially with Ponting and Hussey to stay for a while longer, and probably also unfortunately Haddin.
As for Starc vs Harris vs Lyon. Harris will play. Lyon vs Starc... If I have 4 fast bowlers, I'm bowling Hilfenhaus, Siddle, and Harris, waaaaay before I bowl Starc. I can't see Starc doing better than those 3, but at least Lyon can give some variety if required, and bowl longer spells than Starc.
On the whole, it's a winning team, so it's hard to change. The top order obviously needs sorting out, and I'm not convinced that one unbelievably exceptional innings by our middle order will solve our collapses, but with what this selection panel has done (with Patto and especially Hilfy), sticking with certain guys (Huss, Punter), and making suitable changes (Cowan for Hughes), I'm going to back them in.
