Hear a lot saying he shouldn’t of won the norm again

Houli, Prestia or Pickett should have won the Norm Smith for their impact contribution score assist and allowing the ball not to enter GWS 50.

Take Dustys goals away (which were all kicked against a very average opposition and easy goals) and he played a pretty average game really.

Also giving away a 50 lost Houli a norm in 2017 BUT won that for Martin in 2019

Easy goals? Hahahaha

First was easy but he out played his opponent to get to the mark.

The second was brilliant reading of the ball, a great pick up, broke a tackle and kicked a great goal at full belt across his body.

The third was ridiculous, from the boundary and two guys hanging off him.

The fourth was s**t by Shaw but to kick it from 50 like that, very few can do it.

He also has 2 goal assists, broke tackles all afternoon (including another classic don’t argue on Taranto).

4 goals and 22 touches at 86% is an incredible game by anyone else, especially in a granny. But people seem to expect way more

Others such as Houli, Prestia and Picket were much better on the day despite your bias belief. As I said take his goals away how is he BOG and deserving of norm. Goals weren’t as glorious as you’ve stated. That’s just the hype of fans and Dusty. And if we’re looking at goal scoring THEN Riewoldt should be glorified for his efforts.

Anyone can sit in a pocket and get goals when the team hand it to them

So who’s alt are you?

2017 there were cases to be made for Houli and Rance but it was a three-way race with Dusty, and his case was solid as well.
In 2019 it was unanimous. You could not make a valid argument that there was a more worthy winner than Dusty this time around, I'm afraid.

Will agree to disagree

AFL wanted a fairy tale and they got that helps expand AFL offshore too

If those goals are so easy, why can’t other players do it consistently like he does?

Dusty was immense and clearly BOG for me. Prestia was dominate in the first but still it was Dusty's goal that swung it back to us after we had failed to capitalise eatly. GWS did have their short kick game going then and we needed a game breaker. Enter dusty. His second qrtr goal was just as pivotal. It broke them. No answers after that. Had Prestia nailed his shots it might be a different argument. 4 goals and plus 20 in a GF is insanely good. I loved Houli but would say he was part of a backline that as a unit were sublime. Astbury could have been up there in votes. His opponents had zero influence. In the end, dusty's momentum and finish gets him the cookies.

I reckon Dusty was better both GF's but in 2017 Houli had more of a case, This year Dusty by far had the biggest impact & it was daylight.
Agreed, Dusty in the 2017 flag did a lot more grunt work, he had 29 disposals and 22 of them were contested at 82% disposal efficiency plus 6 clearances!! That disposal efficiency for the amount of contested disposals is just unheard of. Then add on his 2 goals 2 and it goes to show that we just have such a high expectation of what Dusty can do. He had 150 Champion Data points, which was much more than Bachar's 118.
Had Bachar converted for goal better, then it may have been a different discussion.
