Carr and to a lesser extent Dusty need to think back to when they were shopping around for another club a few years ago and no one was interested. RFC showed loyalty then and know it's time to pay that back. If he still chooses to leave then sayonara.
Richmond lowballed him by reducing the value of the contract on offer when that happened. Then they lowballed him again at the start of the year offer $800k for a top five player in the league. No wonder he wants out when the club gives him that kind of disrespect and he has to go through so much drama just to get the wage he deserves.

I'm not using dummy accounts to talk shit.
I happen to know that Dusty will leave as a restricted free agent. He will sign a long term deal making him the highest paid player in the league with North Melbourne. I am sorry that this news brings you so much pain, and angst. My sources? Well they shall remain nameless, but rest assured that if I did share them you would be left in no doubt as to the outcome. Sterge im sorry I responded and made this post, I'm out. I guess we will all chat again once the "it's happening" thing becomes an "it happened" thing.
Translation - my brother overheard someone at work saying that a high end North Melbourne board member told them Dusty was coming to us. Dream on, why would the arguably number 1 player in the comp want to go to a rabble like Go North! who're about to get smacked by Brisbane and win the spoon, and head into the new year without a coach? :tearsofjoy:

Players in good teams regularly get paid unders.

It's when shit truck clubs have to pay overs to get anyone of relevance that they end up with 1.5 million.

He wasn't a top 5 player in the league at the start of the year. Has had a very good year and we have increased our contract accordingly.

This lowballing theory is complete garbage made up to make you blokes feel better and was throughly debunked by one of our blokes the other day. Iirc it was Grockadoc

You do not know he wants out, it is all conjecture. I believe he will stay at Richmond. And if he did leave, as if he would entertain the thought of going to North. No finals, no good players around him. He will not be half the player at North than Richmond.

1.5 million for a guy that doesn't actually give a shit about your club.

Is there anything funnier than the smell of desperation around a club that is so insecure about their relevancy that they have to offer a guy who doesn't even like their club 1.5m just to even think about leaving his club?

Like any negotiation in the beginning one party will offer something lower then what they are willing to pay and the other party requests over what they are willing to accept thus working towards a point where both parties agree
If anyone thinks any player at any club as taken the first offer they were given they are kidding themselves it's just how the game is played

Keep telling yourself thats how it went down mate and you keep telling yourself he wants out. Say it enough and it may magically become true.
