The team has to use this as motivation.

Does Dusty leave if we win a QF or SF, make it to a prelim and perhaps just miss out on a GF after a competitive prelim?

I wouldn't dare to dream bigger than that, but I believe we rely on a strong finals series to keep him now. We must win a final and show him that the club is actually within reach of success.

This situation makes me feel sick. So much confidence 2 weeks ago by almost everyone he was good to stay and now all I am reading in this thread is resignation he is gone.

Of course Dusty has the right to make the most of his career and I know there are precedents for other marquee players leaving. I can't help but think though the club has done a significant amount for Dustin as a person. Does that equate to the supposed $400k difference in offers, probably not but c'mon Dusty.

Whilst I still don't want to consider Dusty leaving is possible, it could make for an interesting Brownlow medal night if Danger has the most votes, Dusty wins but has signed to another club.

A tabloid journo's dream.........a Tiger supporters nightmare

I am at the point where I would tell Carr and Dusty that 1.2 is our final offer. They won't get a cent more and if they want more money, to take Norf's deal.

Enough is enough. Tell Dusty to either sign, or **** off. We have come from being written off this season before it started to being top 4 or thereabouts and all the media can comment about the Tigers is Dusty.

I am sick to death of this being played out Day after day. He MUST know already. His mind is made up. Either he loves the Tigers or he wanta the money. He has known about these 2 choices for well over 3 months know. My guess is he is gone.

If Dusty is leaving for Go North! we need to match the offer and make them give us pick #1. We should then bring in Kelly knowing that the deal will get done with #Go North!.

Out: Martin
In: #1, Kelly.

Look all we have to do is match the Norths bid for Dusty for the first two years in the RFA period.

If AFL HQ don't like that we can take them to the High Court on the grounds Dusty is a RFA.

It called market price, fair trade and therefore we get pick 1 in the draft.

Everyone in the Aussie Rules community knows RFC would be totally screwed with just a first round pick for Dusty Martin as a RFA in terms of compo and talking of godfather bids for Tom Lynch in the same ilk as Dusty is plain ridiculous

Lolololol. Half of that goes to tax.
150k to go from finals to spoons, 80k MCG crowds, to suburban footy and groups of friends and mentors to 1 friend.

Lololololol. He hasn't signed because he said he was waiting to the end of the year and he's gained hundreds of thousands on our offer because how he's played.

Nice seeing a north supprter tho. It's like seeing an endangered animal. So rare.
How much tax does he pay if he stays at Richmond?

One think in RFC's favour is if Dusty stays at RFC he is far more chance to become a great player with his chaos ball and our small forwards the perfect partnership along with JR.

At North Dusty becomes a fish out of water. The players at North simply can't complement him and help his legacy and impact on the game!

I really think Dusty can create a bigger legacy staying at the Tigers and frankly far more money offers after footy as a result.

I actually think North has a better chance of getting Kelly than Dusty because I do not think Dusty is stupid enough to go to North particularly when a lot of it is going to the taxman

I actually think we have no leverage if north get pick 1.

If we match he doesnt have to sign and psd 1 they could fall to them for free.

Not a good position for us that north are finishing last. They have no reason to trade with us. Either free agent or psd for them.

If we match Dusty's offer from North for the RFA years they have to trade. If AFL HQ disagree happy to take AFL HQ to the high court. So if RFC matches irrelevant what North has except in the context of making a trade.

High Court cannot allow a competition to be manipulated by players. Otherwise fans walk away as AFL becomes the Dangerfield manipulation game. High Court needs to maintain the integrity of the competition otherwise Australian government has enough difficulty containing the mob disenfranchised without AFL HQ being allowed to bring the game into disrepute in such a way!! Players cannot act like a UFA when they are RFA its as simple as that to maintain the integrity if the competition so it cannot be gamed by the corrupt!!

If Dusty wants to go to North he still can but as a RFA North is going to have to cough up the Number one draft pick. Thats fair for everybody!!

I cant see us matching Norths offer if Dusty decides that what he wants if it as reported 1.5 million or more. I think with Balmey at the helm, he has the courage to stick with our offer & let him walk, as the individual is not bigger than the club. Especially when you could see this when Geelong were going through their successful period.

That has nothing to do with it. Its about pick one fair value versus the compo pick!! The pick differential is valued in the millions.

RFC would pay the 300K difference for whatever so it does not lose 4 million plus down the track!!

High Court has to interpret the law. There's no law in Australia about maintaining the integrity of a private sporting competition.

You'd be laughed out of any court, let alone the high court with such a ridiculous proposition.

His manager said there would be a decision by the end of the home and away season. To me its actually clear cut:

- If theres no announcement before week 1 of finals, he's gone.

So that means we will know within a fortnight. If he goes, bugger him, we can chase another big fish such as Josh Kelly.
