Hope players stay focused coz once he comes back from nz and doesent announce he's staying everyone will know then 100% he's gone , it could very well put spanner in our finals hopes .
This is the type of scenario where Supporters would start turn against him imo

How much tax does he pay if he stays at Richmond?
Tax rate over $180,000 is $54,232 + $0.45 for every $ over $180,000.

Tax at $1.6 million equals $54,232 + (.45 x 1,420,000) = $693,232.

Salary after tax: $906,768

Agent fee at 10% = $746,768

Tax at $1.2 million equals $54,232 + (.45 x 1,020,000) = $513,232.

Salary after tax: $686,768.

Agent fee at 10%= $566,768

At the standard ATO tax rate, and 10% Agent fee, Martin will earn $180,000 more at Norf than he will at the Tigers.

Obviously you have tax thresholds etc, but this is just a basic guide.

Won't the agent fees come out as deductions?

So next week the announcement ?

An extra 1.2 mil overall over the 7 years?
Few investment properties perhaps?

The big four - Rance, Jack, Cotch and Dusty. Dusty is one of our on-field leaders and whether he likes it or not his legacy is entwined with the other three. He could go down as an absolute great if he sticks with them.

How can he accept a contract with North when he hasn't met with their coach (the current one), the leadership group or toured the facilities? How North treat players near the end of their careers is a whole other story. Imagine also the motivation boost a current player would receive when they see the club offer a 9 year deal to Josh Kelly while they are busting their gut. Horrible player management all round.

I believe he will sign with the Tigers. He might lose a bit of money over the term of this contract, but his "brand" will come out looking a million bucks. I think that is Carr's aim, to create the 'loyalty v $$' narrative and have Dustin be seen to choose the honorable one. It is a good look for his client and Carr seems quite image conscious. I think Dustin would recognize that it is also due to the hard work put in by Richmond that he now has this earning potential.

No matter what happens though it has been a privilege to see him wear the yellow and black guernsey.

Go Tigers

That's ridiculous. The .45 is disgusting. Government takes half of what you earn.

High Court has to interpret the law. There's no law in Australia about maintaining the integrity of a private sporting competition.

You'd be laughed out of any court, let alone the high court with such a ridiculous proposition.

Nope the High Courts role is to support the rule of law and the rule of law is to prevent civil war and the role of the private competition like the coliseum in Rome is to keep the mob entertained and distracted so the ponzi schemes can maintain so that the judges, lawyers and legal support gets paid.

If AFL roles over on integrity so does Aust society and the court system along with the finance system and the governance system.

Who do you think makes the law the courts need to interpret to establish their relevance??

If Australia becomes a police state by necessity no need for lawyers and judges is there!!!

...and will lose $500k in memorabilia income when no one buys his Brownlow stuff.

A move just doesn't make any sense on so many levels.

Anything involving CROATIA & M.City
If its money he wants time for RFC to bring other parties into it and scare Norf into a trade.
Pick 1 and 19 thanks. If not lets see what the AFL and Gold Cost can offer Martin and us.

Lets be honest hes not going to Norf for a flag so why not another bottom 4 team with heaps of cap space. See how quickly Norf back track their offer when its looking more and more likely they will need to trade for his services.

Pretty simple, contribute in a polite fashion or leave please. This isn't the norf board.
