I Cannot stop watching the weekends game. Sure Martin was a star but with out the other 21 players playing the great roles they did we would not have won. To have our resies win as they did as well shows we are developing great Depth. If Martin goes I am confident there will be players wanting to come to the tigers now to be part of a sustained finals run over the next few years. We wont get some one as good as Martin but we should be able to pick to good quality players to fit in with the Team. There still a lot of players to be signed at clubs and think a lot is hinging on the Martin signature for a number of reasons.

Norf haven't considered that his performance will drop off when he is required to carry the whole team on his back every week.

He is obviously mentally strong based on his performance during this fiasco, but when faced with the impossible task of making norf great, with no help and no prospect of it changing, his contribution must be effected.

It would be sad to see a champion destroyed by a drowning club.

Wtf has happened to this thread overnight???

We have a lot of chicken littles on our board apparently.

How about we just support him this year and wait and see. We've got a good side this year where the sky's the limit. Let's just enjoy it and worry about what Dusty does after the finals series...yeah???
Seems everyone goes into hysterics every time some media hack tweets about Dusty. Guys, come on. Stop feeding the media.

This doesn't get said anywhere near enough...

We all know Dusty is dealing with issues regarding his Dad. There are also not weekly or daily but HOURLY updates on his contract status by media outlets and have been for weeks now. We know he detests the focus on him. Cops heaps of attention on field, often unfairly, but doesn't get sucked in.

Despite all of this he is playing the BEST and FAIREST football in the competition. Has there been a more dominant, powerful and popular player wearing the yellow and black?

Will take his place as a Tiger great irrespective of what he does at year's end.

I should be enjoying the 104 thrashing of Freo.
I should be enjoying one of the best home and away seasons in my lifetime.

Instead, I'm refreshing this ******* thread every five minutes.

Whatever decision Dusty makes, I'll be wearing #34 to games next year...
A lot you ****in know D'Annunzio

Time to call his bluff if he is bluffing. We have offered $1.2. Say to him he has until this weekend to accept or decline and then the offer is off the table or will need to be reviewed and could potentially be lower. We need to start planning for the future and the delays are taking too long and leaving us little time to secure a potential replacement and lock in existing players long term. We are in effect being held to ransom by Carr. Sign or leave, which ever or be, needs to be known now. I personally think he may go hence the holding back of an announcement.

People saying that the club and dusty are holding back the announcement til next week to stir more interest in our finals campaign are niave. Why do we need more interest in our finals campaign? We have 73000 members ffs. It must be a huge distraction every day with the media attention and constant is he isn't he.

Bite the bullet in or out!

He said end of the year so lets wait until the end of the year instead of melting 15 pages every night.

The sky doesn't fall if he doesn't sign before finals as it will show his mind is actually on finals and winning them. Carr has form in players holding out until the end of their contracts as per the norm in the entertainment industry (Cloke, Martin have both done this previously and stayed) and in this case he has been proven 100% spot on as Dusty is now commanding a much higher $.

If we were to win the flag and Dusty was to dominate a Grand Final (stuff of dreams i know but bare with me for this hypothetical) his value would leap again as rightly or wrongly September form is an even bigger determinant of value.

Carr and Martin are 100% spot on to wait until after finals to make a decision and i advise a few in here to go for a walk outside and get some fresh air and enjoy the next month before worrying about whether he stays or goes.

Realistically? How many players held off until the end of the season and stayed. I want him to stay. But feel the longer it goes on the less likely it is. What Carr is making him do is unfair to the club, to the supporters and to dusty himself.

We should all be celebrating his talent and how great he has been this year and be excited at the fact that more than likely he will win a Brownlow. Instead people are bagging him out as a mercenary and money hungry so and so. He is a champion regardless of his decision but a decision needs to be made.

We are supporting him, but we are also backing the club not to screw the cap over one bloke. It's called being responsible. I want us to keep Dusty, but not at any cost.

I'm in your camp. If they screw up our cap for one player I'll be pissed off.

Carr and Dusty have maintained all year they aren't making a decision until season end. They aren't going to rush it now because a few bigfooty members are getting impatient

Realistically? Factually? Dusty is one who has actually held off until the end of the season and ended up staying

People acting as if him holding out is a shock and in some way is an indication of him leaving? I'ts happened before! He stayed!

Rubbish.

It's unfair because it doesn't suit YOUR timeline. Hasn't affected the team or Dusty one little bit.

Carr has said all year that a decision will be made at years end.

Come finals and if he hasn't resigned you may have a point but at the moment your are just getting caught up in the media hysteria.

Atleast his September form shouldn't increase Go North!'s offer. Even they wouldn't pay for something they won't use for years.
