He said end of the year so lets wait until the end of the year instead of melting 15 pages every night.

The sky doesn't fall if he doesn't sign before finals as it will show his mind is actually on finals and winning them. Carr has form in players holding out until the end of their contracts as per the norm in the entertainment industry (Cloke, Martin have both done this previously and stayed) and in this case he has been proven 100% spot on as Dusty is now commanding a much higher $.

If we were to win the flag and Dusty was to dominate a Grand Final (stuff of dreams i know but bare with me for this hypothetical) his value would leap again as rightly or wrongly September form is an even bigger determinant of value.

Carr and Martin are 100% spot on to wait until after finals to make a decision and i advise a few in here to go for a walk outside and get some fresh air and enjoy the next month before worrying about whether he stays or goes.
WTF else are we going to talk about? Shits me how people are like "don't melt" "don't talk about his contract" blah blah. It's a ******* footy board this is the precise place to talk about it

Rubbish.

It's unfair because it doesn't suit YOUR timeline. Hasn't affected the team or Dusty one little bit.

Carr has said all year that a decision will be made at years end.

Come finals and if he hasn't resigned you may have a point but at the moment your are just getting caught up in the media hysteria.
Agreed. Some really silly stuff being written. The only person worth commenting on is Carr. He is the only one playing a strategy - he wants a % of the most he can get for Dusty in what might be Dusty's last playing contract. North is a pawn. He's slick, too much so, but he is who the Club must deal with. I think the Club has played this perfectly thus far - they are still very confident.

Lets look at Go North! here, forget who they are targeting and look at Go North!

1. Coach: caro states that Scott's career hinges on whether they get a big fish or not, if i was Scott i would be ringing GC and if successful turn around and give the finger to Go North!.

2. List: caro also states that if Go North! land a big fish they will shelve plans to rebuild, great list management that  a poster on here who watched that show said Lloyd was like " WTF " your club finishes last and you shelve a rebuild because of one player.

3 Salary Cap room: reports are Go North! have 2.2m to play around with and we hear they are going to blow 68% of that on one player

To me that is a club who are in massive massive denial about where they stand are purely going for the look at us contract signing.

Smart clubs don't offer 1.5m contracts, only dumb desperate clubs do.

If this was Richmond right now and we were heading for the spoon i would want the board, recruitment staff and all the coaching staff and yes SunshineTiger i do think this.............SACKED.

I'm in your camp. If they screw up our cap for one player I'll be pissed off.
Swans are paying Buddy that kind of $ and it hasn't screwed up their cap. Have all their best players signed to 4-6 year deals and just recently re-signed Reid & Jones despite supposedly better offers from Melbourne clubs.

Doesn't seem to be distracting Dusty, playing the best football of anyone in the league at present and has all year. Can't see him jumping to a cot case like the wooden spooners Norf.

Your confidence is very reassuring.
Like I have said all along, i back the news I was given. The funny thing is, nothing factual, outside of Dusty's manager carr coming out saying he will sign at the end of the year has been proven. Norf supporters claim he has met the leadership group, yet they cant prove it. They claim a monster offer, yet again they cant prove it.

The little I personally know of Dusty and from what I have heard from many people who do know him is that he intensely loyal to his mates and he has a shit load of mates at the richmond footy club. For him to leave, he would have to be offered more money then any other player has been offered before and norf are not stuipid like there supporters are in thinking they could absorb 1.6 to 1.7m a year for a mid for 7 years, particularly when they have to secure what quality they have on there list next year like brown...they will hamstring themselves.

also most are grossly underestimating the cap space we have freed up. I honestly believe Dusty will stay and till proven otherwise, ill continue to believe it.
