Imagine if we still had Dan Richardson speaking to the media about this issue..
Dan's talent isnt running a FD, he is doing exactly what he should be doing now - in a role that plays to his strengths. If he and Hartley keep making good moves like this year's off-season and retain Dusty its working for mine.

Why the hell did it take us so long to bring Balme home?
He is such a quality manager of business and people- who knows where we would be if had of arrived 5-10 years ago.
from what i know, we approached multiple times over the years but the problem was we had no quality to attract other quality - the moment we got Balme, look at the new assistants all arriving.

His interview when he got here really made it sound like returning to Punt Rd would have been nice but he was happy where he was, until he got shafted sideways and then we came a-calling. The return sounded a hell of a lot more appealing that time around....

Ralph Carr reckons Martin wanted to go to GWS but the AFL blocked his move to go there.
This is from Robbo who personally talked to Carr.

Ralph effin Carr.

Greedy farkin Ralph effin Carr.

Why I hate the music industry in Australia, full of money grabbing pigs.

Ralph you lying Carlton supporting piece of shit.
Lol if Dusty had wanted to go to GWS the AFL would have personally packed his bags and then made him a footy ambassador to New Zealand. :D

Couldn't agree more.

But tell me this, when asked and he answers, "my manager and the club are sorting it out, I'm here to promote Choccos footy". Is that just a prompt to ask the same question again and again and again? Is that what they teach at journo school?
They seriously are just dickheads, actually worse than that. The whole modus operandi is to spark a reaction, not get an answer that will satisfy anyone.
I hope you have more integrity as a journo than those numbnuts.
Far more integrity than that. Problem with the industry these days is the like sof Robbo and Caro think they are the story these days.
I can say my employer is going to great lengths to ensure my colleagues and I build OUR profile ... it comes at the expense of the actual brand.
I have always been Journalist X of X organisation. The brand is important, not my brand. Your Robbo's and Caro's are Robbo and Caro Everywhere. Do you know they work for The Age, Channel Nine? SEN?? All blurred. And journos now don't build a rapport with their contacts. I genuinely don't have a problem finding news or the latest as there is respect between contact and I. But the journos today are aware the camera are on them and rolling.

For the record I think it's sad you're no longer on sen and that you're doing podcasts for carlton

Team performance goes back onto the coach considering Martin has been there for the entirety of DH career. I used to remember reading pages and pages of posts of how wonderful Chocco was to Dusty in terms of his development and an inspiration to him.
Chocco must have joined the Hells Angels since he left us as he appears to be guilty by association.
Oh **** me. Everything relates back to Dimma with you. Is the earth flat because of Dimma too? Move on mate. It's time.

andyet when Choco was employed with us, you were adamant he had nothing to do with Dustys development and he was just a fat lazy shit who was a bad example.

I actually once tried to argue that he did wonders for dusty but you didn't want a bar of it. Now he earns your praise because the RFC let him go?

No I argued the point that we spent 500k on a guy to take on one player. It was a joke, but he was suffering with cancer so I will cut him some slack as I wasn't aware of its severity or even when he was first diagnosed with it.
My opinion was irrelevant as people like you thought he was dropping manna from the heavens.
The thing is here Martin seems to admire him and is still in touch with him , which suggests they have a strong bond.

After listening to the Balme interview on SEN I'm comfortable with where this is at.
We've put an offer to Dusty which is long term and competitive. Dusty loves the club but wants to take his time in making a decision.
Balme seemed to have no issues with Ralph Carr so all seems above board. I'm still hoping we get an announcement prior to round 1.
