AFL star Dustin Martin and his manager Ralph Carr are building an inner city property empire.
A multimillion-dollar property “revolution” led by AFL star Dustin Martin and manager Ralph Carr is making commercial investing “sexy” in inner Melbourne.
Companies jointly owned by Martin and Mr Carr – including some that also include Queensland businessman Chris Bissiotis – have spent more than $16m buying properties in suburbs including Richmond and Abbotsford since 2016.
In March, one of the companies purchased a two-storey former photography studio at 23 Butler St, Richmond, for $2.75m.

The building joins the portfolio of several others they own in the street, including 25 Butler St where Jane Hill Bridal recently relocated from Chapel St.
Jones Real Estate’s managing director Paul Jones worked on many of the deals through his Melbourne-based commercial property agency.
Mr Jones said the old, often disused warehouses and office sites were fitted out with end-of-trip facilities like showers, soundproof studios, polished concrete floors and recreation areas before being leased out to tenants.
“They are being transformed into New York City, Manhattan and Brooklyn-style warehouses,” Mr Jones said.

While many CBD offices have been sitting vacant since Covid-19 hit Australia in 2020, the “revamped” ex-warehouses in Richmond, Cremorne, Collingwood and Abbotsford were in demand, he said.
“Tenants are lining up to take them, that’s where they are bucking the trend,” Mr Jones added.
“It’s attracting people with entrepreneurial spirit wanting cool, sexy buildings in the entertainment centre of Melbourne.”

Among the renovated properties now available for rent are “The Lincoln” at 19 Lincoln St, Richmond, and 23 Butler St.
Mr Jones said creative businesses often leased the spaces although AFL players, actors and medical businesses have also expressed interest.
A florist, cafe and function space named La Fantaisie is a tenant of 297 Victoria St, Abbotsford.

Mr Jones described the interest in city fringe rental premises as an “industrial renaissance”.
“We have further sites coming to market in North Melbourne and West Melbourne,” Mr Jones added.
Carr’s own Richmond-based management company has been instrumental in the careers of entertainment stars including Tina Arena, Vanessa Amorosi, Richard Wilkins, Kate Ceberano and Pseudo Echo.
He also manages Richmond stars Shai Bolton and Daniel Rioli, alongside Martin
Richmond premiership stars Shai Bolton and Daniel Rioli have split from manager Ralph Carr ahead of major contract calls.

Bolton, who has emerged as one of the AFL’s most dynamic players, has moved to Perth-based agent Anthony Van Der Wielen.

Dusty training the house down because he wants to come back to the club in tip top shape so he can get back to "Don't arguing" Tarranto and pushing him to the ground

Anybody else noticed he doesn’t don’t argue anymore? Dunno why buts it’s a shame. He only had like 1-2 years of it in his prime.

Dusty & Carr revamping disused warehouses and leasing them to entrepreneurs and businesses, aside from being a solid investment, is a bloody service to the community. Don't see too many other highly paid players contributing to growth and jobs like that through their investments.

What gets me is the bloke clearly has his head more screwed on than 99% of players yet to this day the media still froth over nailing him with anything they can get. About time they realised he's anything but the brain dead moron they always wanted him to be. How about a few articles on all the good things this living legend of the game has done and continues to do.
But but but he's covered in tatts (including a criminal NECK TATT) and doesn't talk to (the ultra conservative) media ! He MUST be dodgy !

This is hilarious. Mentions a 'long list of off field controversies' which are then listed by the heinous acts of missing training, running a red light, driving while suspended and being accused of the chop stick thing which like this turned into a load of bs. There would be heaps of current AFL players with worse indiscretions but somehow Dusty gets painted like he is one of the worst.

Lol, it will be nothing to see here. Nothing about how it was released on Dusty's comeback for finals. Interesting the AFL release it now with bigger stories about corrupt umpires dominating the news.
Trying to whitewash the umpires scandal

The footage was deliberately released before the first final, every media campaigner wanted him suspended. But apparently the afl had dealt with this issue in 2015....
which utensil head leaked it out is what I wanna know

Oh yeah, we'd have taken that "long list of off field controversies" in a heartbeat when we drafted him, as would any other club in the history of the league. DeGoey clocks that list up in a single afternoon.

"Missing training" :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

The media are absolute cretins. I wonder when we will hear a long line of apologies from those ready to destroy him a couple of months back…??

And a ‘long list’ of off-field incidents … ummm … running a red light ?!?? Hahaha. Ok, that’s 98% of society. Then a Japanese restaurant incident where he was again found to have done nothing wrong.

So his ‘long list’ for what he has been found ‘guilty’ for is a 2-week club imposed suspension for sleeping in. Running a red light. Driving while suspended.

The bloke has been in the system for 13 friggin years and that’s the best they’ve got?? I’d say given his upbringing, the media harassment and the amount of people who would’ve been trying to get him in a ‘gotcha’ moment over 13-years the guys a friggin angel

You can set your watch to this sh*t.

But the Herald Sun reported on Monday night Martin had dodged a sanction from the AFL over the incident.

"Dodged a sanction" - like he barely escaped sanction over a nothing story that's been confirmed as a non-incident

It also reported: “The AFL’s respect and responsibility policy is a victim-led policy, which means the absence of a complaint makes it more challenging

tl;dr They tried every angle they could to nail him over it, but ultimately couldn't because the "victim" was no victim and didn't even think anything happened.

lmao are they seriously releasing this when an ump just got caught being a corrupt campaigner
Hey everyone ! Look over there, Dusty Martin is doing something or other ! Probably a bad thing ! Probably. A thing. Yep definitely a thing. (Umpire corruption thing blow over ? All clear ? Good)

Never mind everyone it was probably really BAD but it doesn't matter now (served it's purpose) No ? Really ? Nothing in it ? Ok. Wow. U'm everyone it's actually ok. Nothing happened. THIS TIME ! Dusty was just buying a warehouse.

But it probably could have been bad because he has some unusual neck tattoos and that's BAD because nobody at AFL house has any idea what that could possibly mean and it must be BAD ! Like that criminal Marlion Pickett with the neck tatts. Oh and the other guy Matt Parker, he's probably bad too.

Anyway, how about that Bears game !

What percentage of white collar crime do they report?

Interesting the AFL release it now with bigger stories about corrupt umpires dominating the news.
If there's one thing they've got down to a science it's sitting on unwanted stories until some big sh*t breaks then releasing them while everyone is distracted

They're probably waiting for Russia to start world war 3 to release the Clarko findings

What a bloody joke Gak. Long list??
They mention 4 incidents of which 2 are minor traffic offences. Jesus H. all because he won’t talk to them. And they wonder why. Scum they are.

Paywall things.

Massive story!!!!

Nothing happened. But it might have with a hardened guy like Dusty. He once rana red light!!!!! And slept in once!!!!!!!!!

With that sort of background I cannot imagine the sort of crazy stuff he might do.

Meanwhile Dusty trains hard and make long term investments to secure his future.

Guilty only of snubbing the media. Some in the media behave like high school cliques when they are deprived of the praise and attention they think they deserve. The mob and Dustin have to then expect the petty and nasty notes that get passed around the greater classroom.

Pffft.
