Out of all the young guys listed, am most excited about seeing Langford and what he can do with that added responsibility.

Should he be given first rights to CHF as BrunoV suggested in the best 22 thread, it will be facscinating how the young fella will go.

With a strong aerobic base to build on and his already high football IQ, the second year forward could be commanding a decent defender with the main guys set to miss.

His ability to take a mark or pop up in the right spot at the right time makes me excited with what he could produce with some added responsibility this year.

Hears hoping he can be a 4 - 7 mark and 10 - 14 possession a game forward this year. Goals with a lack of supply should not be a yardstick for this young man.

With forward lines trending into being more versatile (eg: Darling, D.Marin, Gunston, Stringer types) he will be used forward with the ability to go onball as a bigger body.

Apparently fyfes playing 50/50 forward/mid this year.

With the capped rotations this guys ideal as your 3rd biggest forward. Alot of the 3rd biggest forwards in the front 6 will get up the ground and rotate onball (names mentioned above including fyfe) ect.

This role is ideal for Langers with his size and attributes

Why is that? He would be perfectly suited to a mobile HF role.
The way we play, he wouldnt get near it and when he would he would be crunched and destroyed at CHF. Play him on ball where he can find the ball often and then he can rest forward.
I think his height of 193cm is also exaggerated.

He is a hard learding forward. Crash and bash isn't his style. Playing to his strengths would be benefit us and the team.

Given our vulnerable back line this year. Would giving him a run as a defender in nab cup be worth a try.

Langford should groomed as a midfielder/CHF for the next decade, so I think it would be a waste of a year if he spent it in the backline.

I'm just thinking it would be worth a trail in Nab cup. I'm not suggesting permanently but If he actually plays ok there. It would be worth it's weight in gold knowing we could throw him in if needed. We have a stack of kids who will hopefully play mid in future. A tall swinging Fwd/def could be far more important in the years to come.
