Langford was medically subbed out of the game at the final break with hamstring soreness.
It’s an untimely blow for the 24-year-old, who was enjoying career-high averages in disposals (21.1) and marks (5.7).
Head of high performance Sean Murphy said Langford had already begun what should hopefully be a speedy recovery.
“Unfortunately, Kyle presented with a bit of hamstring tightness throughout the game,” Murphy told Dons Digital’s Liberty Financial Performance Update.
“We decided to take him out at three-quarter time, and unfortunately he’s sustained a hamstring strain and will go into a short-term rehab process now.
“Hopefully we’ll get him back in a few weeks.”
Another milestone game this season would be rad. Also fwiw if he gets back for Round 21 he should play his 100th game in R23, otherwise we'd have to make finals for him to get there this year.
Francis is due for 50 if he can play another 5 games :\ Should've been this week but he's missed four now. I think that's it for possible milestones though, outside of debutants.

Lucky it wasn't hamstring "awareness". That got Stewart for 10 weeks or so.Where else but essendon do you get subbed out as a precaution and end up with a 3 week hammy!
I can and have. They can't and haven't
Mate, he came 4th in the BnF last year playing on the wing for the majority of the year and someone said he finished 4th because of his time forward.I dont think there have been too many people calling for him to be played forward recently mate due to his form. People wanted him played in the position he was showing natural talent for when he was struggling and drifting out of games playing higher up the ground and around the midfield.
As Lore said, he can be both and the argument of "play him forward" was more based around his form at the time. I've said before he was showing more forward talent than anywhere else on the ground, its a testament to the work he has done to round out his game and become one of our better mids.
I’m one of them and wholeheartedly agree with your post. Some, including me, were pretty scathing of him early in the season.
Don’t think we were wrong but he has certainly lifted and has been playing really good footy. Been important as a mid given injuries on that part of the field.
Essendon’s midfield could be set for another boost with Kyle Langfordset to make himself available for Saturday night’s clash with Sydney at the Gabba.PLAYERCARDSTART4Kyle Langford

Langford has missed the Bombers’ last two games with a hamstring injury, with head of high performance Sean Murphy saying the 24-year-old would need to prove his fitness on the track this week.
“‘Langers’ is going well at the moment. He’s got a few things to tick off this week and he’s a test for this weekend,” Murphy told Dons Digital’s Liberty Financial Performance Update.
“He’ll roll through training early in the week and then main training, and if he comes out of that, he should be right for this weekend.”
seems he’s come in for the Hooker role, so looking forward to hanging shit on him for being slow, missing goals and standing in the goal square waving an arm.Didn’t expect to see Durham and Langford in the same side, now that Durham basically owns a wing I’d love to see Langford play more forward switching with Stringer
He's absolutely crucial now, but his critics will stay quiet.Traditionally handsome game from a traditionally handsome man
Or they jump on the wagon like everyone else has with Parish. He's absolutely crucial now, but his critics will stay quiet.
Has been very good this year! Love his forward craft. Consistency is the key with him though. Hopefully keeps it up going forward. He's absolutely crucial now, but his critics will stay quiet.
He was among if not the best. Still has his moments of softness like when he was trying to tap the ball into the path of a team mate. Only had to knock it on but flapped at it without making contact instead. He's absolutely crucial now, but his critics will stay quiet.
RIPRutten said "Langers copped a few knocks". Not sure what that means
