wasn't that high performance dude we flogged off the Horks supposed to stop this sort of sh*t from happening?
He actually got a knee to the back of the same hammy. Not a lot they can do about that.

AFL website describing him as a “gun mid” and a “youngster”…

Seems he’ll be a youngster forever, and I doubt we’ll ever have consensus about whether he’s a mid or not, let alone a gun mid 😵‍💫
I am in the he’s a gun camp, or at the very least one of our better players camp.

There is no such thing as "stop this sort of shit from happening", that is an impossible dream.

A player still has an increased risk of re-injurying their hammy 16 weeks post injury. Do we give every player an automatic 16 weeks off for every hammy?

From the injury video. Pretty sure it's the same hamstring, since the very next question they emphasised that Heppell did the opposite hand with his injury this time.

Yeah so Langers unfortunately injured the hamstring during the game he'll now miss a couple of weeks and enters into the rehab process, hopefully gets a chance to play towards the back end of the year.

Back by the end of the year ? Our year probably ends in 3 weeks unless a small miracle occurs and we win our last 3 and other results go our way.

Not available this weekend, reassess over the next couple of weeks
Langers is in that hamstring rehab phase, we're now a couple of weeks in to that. He's getting some good sessions in and he won't be available this weekend, and then we'll assess over the next couple of weeks, it all depends on where we sit as a team.

The scrapping of the bye not good for him.
Depends really, it's not really scrapped just integrated with the finals schedule. So it could end up being timed just right, it could be timed poorly or we could get eliminated before we get to it

Rushing him back for the Sydney game never made any sense

Because they could have predicted he would get a knee to the same hamstring ?
