Needs to put his hands up when weaving through traffic. Currently it is far too easy for opposition tacklers to pin his arms. Would also be telling him to take the first forward option to keep the ball moving.

His body doesn't let him pull off what his mind is thinking at times with ball in hand and once he gets some size should start shaking of tacklers like its nothing. Will be a very dangerous player in a few years.

I love the way he hits the ball on the lead and the space he finds while forward. I love it as much as the time and poise he has in traffic when in the middle.

One week he makes a serious case to be a long term forward and the next he is a midfielder.

Obviously it is a strength to have multiple strings to his bow. I think if he was to be settled into a role it would depend on the development of players like Francis, McKenna and McKernan. If Francis was being looked at as a mid in the long term, for example, it might be that Langford is more of a forward (because it's a better use of their respective strengths).

If McKenna and McKernan really kick on as forwards it might not be necessary to utilise Langford as a forward. If we lost Myers it could mean that Langford's size is more important in the midfield.

At times yesterday, I thought he looked spent at numerous times on the outer wing. It looked like he was running on the one spot and not getting anywhere.

At 19 and still learning his craft, I think you can allow a few errors along the way. For us to beat the better sides in the comp (5-12 on the ladder) everything has to go right... no fumbles, no kicking 2.4, no injuries. It's going to be a tight task for that to happen with youth in our side like Kyle. At least he looks like he's having a crack.

I know every mobile tall forward gets called "the next Jack Gunston" these days, but Gunston is exactly the player who Langford has stated he models himself off and that's how he should be played. Put him on the half forward line, let him play high up the ground on occasion and be done with the issue.

Anyone think the first set shot was a goal too? I was off the couch celebrating, thanking Judas for gifting us this kid and come back to see a Melbourne kick in.
Wow.

I just looked at the replay then- that was clearly a goal!

Anyone who wants to look, go here: http://www.afl.com.au/video/smart-replay

It's his behind near the end of the second quarter. How was ruled a behind? I can't believe nothing has been made of that...

Definite behind.

Camera angle is playing tricks, the camera is centred on the left Goal post and left behind post. The ball goes to the left of the left goal post.

Exactly, was fuming after it.
Actually, no. I've just looked again.

The key is to look at the height of the posts- the one on the left in the shot was the behind post, so he did just tug it left unfortunately.

It's poor camera work, tbh.
