There were 4 plays on the weekend, when after the dust has settled i look back and i say these are the 4 biggest positives of the day, they werent the flashiest they werent the most crucial but boy did they get me excited about our future

Dustin Martins STRENGTH Handball - 30 second mark of this video, the handball is in the end sharked from Pierce but the fact that he runs in takes the ball off salopek pushes him over, shrugs cornes than shrugs one more tackle all while keeping his feet in the wet is as exciting as anything he did in this game! he dont argued i reckon about 6 times on saturday and regularly pushes over men, this kids special

Cotchins SMARTS Vision - There was a play where cotchin intercepted a handball at full tilt hit the deck spun 180 handballed over heads of a couple of players and hit a richmond player on the 50m line cant find the video but boy this kid is clean, his hands all day were one touch , we need him fit and we have a very very very special player in this one, obviously we all know it but he did some things in the wet yesterday that made me stupidly excited

Ben CONFIDENCE Griffiths - watched the replay again and despite the conditions for the time he was on he was fairly lively picked it off the deck cleanly 2-3 times had one booming kick and more importantly that mark! more important than taking the mark the fact that he was willing to throw himself at it over a ruckman and chad cornes says something very important about this kids thinking! he looks like a big tough mean kid with an attitude and a booming kick!

Ben Nasons Work Ethic Running - 2 mins to go before half time ben nason layed a tackle resulted in a ball up in ports 50 after the ball up quick kick out to richmond goes straight to boak who nason tackles and as boak hits the ground turns and sprints to goal, the ball spills to the tigers 2 quick kicks inside our fwd 50 where nahas lays a tackle ball spills to Nason who runs into an open goal, was great to see a kid in his 9th game? to have the work ethic to lay to good tackles and the smarts to take off work hard and run inside forward 50 to create another option!

Strength Smarts Confidence Work Ethic

Theres gonna be plenty more losses this year
Theres gonna be BIG LOSSES
Port didnt show up on the weekend
But at the end of this year or even next year if i can sit back and say
were strong smart confident and work hard
&$#* ill be excited about our future

I remember this one clearly and thought the same thing at the time.

****ing brilliant effort from Nason and I am finding it hard to keep him out of my favourite 2 to 3 Tiger players at the moment.

Quality contributions each time he approaches a contest. :thumbsu:

Not sure if it was the same play mentioned in the OP, but there was a handball from Cotchin on the back flank to wing area, in a bit of traffic to Cuzz on the run. The handball was about 10-12m and hit Cuzz such that he could run on to it perfectly, in those shite conditions, amazing. Cuz then ran on as Cotch put on the burners and followed up in support, allowing Cuzz to draw a man and kick to JR one out... goal!

Anyone that has played the game will know how special that was. That handball didn't get alot of exposure but it was unreal... especially in those conditions.

Cotchin's skills by hand are rare.

Yeah but haven't you read all the mail from our panel of experts...apparently Nason "needs a rest" and has done for the last 3 weeks...

The biggest thing in all that Dea was Cotchs pickup, on the run one handed with the ball like a cake of soap, he did it all day supreme wet weather skills that bloke went up another notch in my estimation which i didn't think was possible

Dusty's gather and underground handball to Cotch I though was just amazing awareness as well.

On Nason, and him needing a rest. No doubt Dimma will give him one at some stage, but to suggest he needs one, looks off the mark. Some still don't believe the hype about this boy, but his work ethic alone makes him a very promising prospect.
