Probably shoulder too much of the load early in his career and turn into Cripps

I reckon he plays a lot more time forward this week. Played higher than normal midfield minutes on the weekend due to injuries.
Wouldn’t mind seeing him forward more again but with Taranto out our midfield is still batting lean

Hopper obs comes back in but I would argue the void Taranto leaves is bigger than Hopper

It'd be horrible to lose him, we've got to start winning games and TBH Yze isn't exactly the guy that screams inspiring coach you want to stay with.

His manager has probably told him to hold off and field offers, but ill be nervous until he signs.

Fans have had it tough recently, I feel like itd be a great positive story to boost morale if at some point they came out and said Lalor extended for 3 more years.

think hes saying hopefully lalor isnt overloaded early on like cripps was and physically busted by the time they got him proper back up in the midfield.

He did manage to win 2 brownlows after he was supposedly physically busted.

Though personally not sure he should have won both but it’s not like he was undeserving as he is definitely a Brownlow winning calibre player (unlike Wines/Priddis)

more of a timing thing. we want lalor at the peak of his powers with a cadre of good mids around him. cripps was peak in a shit side doing all the heavy lifting.

Waiting for when he leaves to see all the 'always was and always will be a Richmond man' posts that we saw with Baker, Bolton, Rioli, Graham, Ells, Townsend etc. ;)

i think you'll see with most of those we thought it in our interests at the time, and particularly Bolton would've stayed if we'd really wanted it .... but we'd seen the benefit to all parties ....

I don't believe much that's reported in the media but if Beau Mcreery has really been offered a deal in the vicinity of 7 years 7mil then we better bloody sign Lalor ASAP. Scully and Callan Ward were poached and their clubs were powerless to do anything. It's gonna be a painful year and not much fun for the players.

We could easily go win less and Lalor might get an offer too good to refuse. We overpaid Cotchin, Deledio and Riewoldt early days as we needed to meet the salary cap when reality was only Deledio fully justified the massive bump in salary.

Our list demographic means nobody really deserves a noticable payrise bar Lalor. Our old blokes are lucky if they get another year on minimum chips. None of Hotton, Faull, Armstrong, Smillie, Simms, Trainor, Brown, Sonsie, Mcauliffe, Banks's managers would be expecting more than a minor uplift on their current contracts.

The club better get it done ASAP or next year will be an endless will he or won't he sign with Tassie. Good teams can recover with losing 1 gun player to Tassie. Losing Lalor will devistate us.
