After the disappointment of not being drafted in 2006 Howlett said he had learned from that experience.
Since then the hard-working centreman has added two full WA Football League seasons under his belt and topped it off by winning the Peel Thunder best and fairest medal last season.
“Because I had been through it all in 2006 I’ve become a bit more mature and I learned whatever happened this year was a bonus,” he said. “Not many blokes my age get a chance like this so I’m going to make the most of it.”
But that happens a fair bit to guys coming into the AFL. Not quite got the chops to be a gun midfielder at the top level so get used as taggers or utilities..Played defence against Marigliani in game simulation at training yesterday and apparently held him well. Interesting role for Howlett who is used to being more of an attacking player!
1 vet so is allowedHeard Ben has been kicking ass in the preseason games. And heard something about him being elevated to the senior list as there was a spot left or something???
This true?
What's that mean?Thought he played well, AFL has him clocked at 44% DE, which might be a bit of a worry...
