Must have done a good job of it.

What is the actual injury? like is their risk to the spine or something?
They said he hasn't even ran yet because of the impact it would cause.

The most they have said is whiplash to the neck which was a re-aggravated injury he suffered during pre-season.

That's really unfortunate. Neck injuries are such a pain to manage. Hard to treat and you can get all kinds of other symptoms like headaches etc.

I've had neck and shoulder issues that haven't cleared up for over two years now. Hopefully Ben's Drs and Physios etc are better than mine, or he is a luckier man.

They have been fairly hush hush about it though.

Like you say they may not be able to put a timeframe on it.

Bit of a mystery to be honest.

They only mentioned it a week or two after the incident, then not much since.

Discussed it some weeks back - stated he had an issue with it in pre-season, it recovered then he copped a knock to it and he has the issue again. Obviously lots of nerves in the neck region so those issues are hard to put a timeframe on.

"Ben McNiece is making progress as he battles a neck complaint.

The Next Generation Academy recruit has been sidelined since mid June with the Club taking a cautious approach throughout his recovery.

“He was back running last week and he’ll do the warm up tomorrow,” Crow said.

“We’ll get him some non-contact drills the following week.

“Next week we’ll get another MRI on his neck, we’ll get him to see a specialist and just get the best advice we can on whether or not we put him back into contact drills and training and have a go again at playing this year, or put him on ice.

“So there will be a bit of a decision to be made late next week.”

Hope he gets some good news, this neck s**t is annoying.

Its unfortunate but at least they said he's been healing. I think its wise not to bring in contact at this stage of the season. Let him have a few months to get fully fit and then he can go and have a full preseason for next year.

I reckon he's a good chance to break into the senior team next year.

Sidenote: He's way better than this movie too
