need someone to help BBB out. he can play forward so it will stretch the brissy defence im sure. good luck Tom

Yep. I think he is an average footballer, but if he can create a target, have a physical presence and force his man to be accountable then that's a win for Ben Brown

Good on him really, clearly has worked his ass off in the preseason coming into a new club. Very happy that Ben Brown can avoid going into the ruck as well.

Don't agree with selection, good luck to him tho. Hope he proves me wrong

The scary thought is where didn’t really have any other big blokes in any sort of form to pick. Larkey isn’t ready, didn’t get much of it in the VFL. Watson is nowhere, Durdin is injured. Who else could we have brought in?

And it wasn't as if Waite 'surprisingly' retired at 34/35 - instead of loading up on inside mids to the extent that we can't even play
Ahern, sensible list mgt may have looked at getting a second marking forward.

Nah BBB is enough, him jack ziebell and 4 pressure forward. Ziebell is also a pressure forward in his speed and mobility while C+ as a mid is nothing to cheer at, his same skill in the forward line is monster. His attack on the ball in a smaller region makes him a match winner. Ziebell easily 40 - 50 goal player. BBB another 50 goal player. Then the big improvement has to come from the likes of Turner, Simpkin and Garner (a match winner) to play consistently. Structurally we are sound. Our r1 thrashing is due to new players settling in, unfamiliar ground and longest trip on sunday afternoon. We got the key defensive stock covered. Mackay looks a decent eventual replacement for tarrant and durdin is a solid bet at CHB. If we can get wood to half bank flank, that could be another bona fide gain. Majak is bonus, prob he is never coming back.

We definitely needed taller targets in the forward line, so hopefully having Tom in the side gives us some more confidence to go long and direct.

If I'm defender and I'm looking up the field and seeing all 192cm of Mason Wood running into poor positions, I'm probably not going to kick to him. Now a 200cm 106kg Tom Campbell? Now that's a ******* target.

Let's hope our usually absent small forwards are around to crumb if he does make contests and bring the ball to the ground. Otherwise we'll have a continuation of the comical situation where our big guy has to contest the ground ball, outnumbered, after a contest. Like BBB has to do all the time.

This could work really well with TT on the forward line.

Our best options for centre half forward right now are a DFA ruckman from a bottom 6 team and a young player who got one handball in one of his 2 games at the level.

Im up for Larkey and hopefully is up to the pace a bit more. We won't get anywhere with Campbell and Wood is confirmed unable to perform the role.

Yep. Might as well try and develop Larkey now. A lot more mobile than Campbell and a lot better forward craft. Plus he's key position size and can pinch hit in the ruck. Would like to see both Larkey and McKay given some 2nd ruck time. Gets them into the game a bit.

I was so against Larkey getting a game due to his physical development thus far but after today I’m all for it.
Campbell provides an outlet and allows Goldstein rest but there’s no point having a decoy CHF if we have no crumbers at their feet.
