Nope.

And just for shits and giggles I've sent multiple emails on various topics, from different email accounts (work and home), that are critical to various degrees.

That is, I corrected the club when it misread it's own constitution, got them on the McKernan issue, questioned the game, asked them how one would actually spill the board etc etc - nothing groundbreaking, just mildly critical.

Not one response.

Zero.

I can confirm, categorically, that EFC 'listens' only when you are asking them when training is, or when Dustin Fletchers birthday is.

I don't want to overstate this, so I'll be as clear as I can with my words:

Our club is being run very, very poorly.
How's this for a laugh - bloke I work with is a very passionate Collingwood supporter and after about their fifth straight loss this year, they got an email from Bucks (complete with one of those fake nathan.buckley@collingwoodfc addresses), a "From the Coach" type thing.

He forwarded it onto to a few of us saying "how about this bullshit what a load of crap" etc etc.

Cos I'm frickin hilarious I decided to then forward again to the "Nathan Buckley" address with a half dozen dot points on what I saw as their onfield issues (some half serious, some def not) and BCC'd the other lads. We had a laugh.

Half an hour later I got a reply from some chick in membership services directly addressing one point (injured players) and giving a general reply to the rest, even if it was just a "be assured our football staff are doing everything possible blah blah blah"

Surprised, made me wonder if they reply to every nuffy or jade.

It must work.

Buckley and co gutted what should have been a premiership dynasty which have missed the finals two years in a row now with no real improvement and all anyone can ever talk about is how good their young list is.

I agree with the main point but how is our social media engagement failing?
It just seems so formulaic and sterile. Other clubs (the Bulldogs seem to have done it best) are creative and witty which actually engages people with the club rather than acting purely as a source of info. It seems like we are still 5 years behind in a lot of these areas.

The pick up of Mckernan has been an absolute stroke of genius. I think it will turn out to be one of our best drafting decisions in terms of value.

Even before i thought he would be much good i liked the decision because i knew we were light on Key Forwards/Rucks and we needed some depth. Now with Carlisle leaving and Mckernan's performances being far beyond any expectations this has turned into a masterstroke.

If only we got a look at him as a forward at AFL level.

I continue to be amazed at his agility and work rate at ground level. There was a moment yesterday when he flew for a mark, was ridden in the back by his opponent, recovered and laid a massive tackle maybe 2 seconds after the marking contest.

I think he is more than just a third forward/second ruck. He could well be our CHF.

How have we not put a serious contract in front of this guy yet? How have other clubs not circled? The more I see the less I think of the intelligence of the football industry.

100% correct - Buckley inherited the dream job - Grand Finallists the previous two years and a young list - Buckley has been a disaster for Collingwood.

Disagree - Buckley was on a hiding to nothing. A lot of guys were in premiership hangover mode and due to retire. He basically had to start a rebuild but due to expected success had to delay the commencement of this by a year or two.

The one thing lacking from his game now us the big clunks.

Gets his arms up above his head and gets hands on a few pack marks a game but they aren't quite sticking

I'm no list manager but, Can you even give a rookie a new contract if you intend on upgrading them?

Maybe you have to upgrade them.with their new contract at list lodgement?

He could well be our CHF.
I actually want them to do this. His work rate suggests that he can fill this role and generate some scores. I feel like playing him as the number 1 ruckman like we did a few times this year is wasting his potential. He'll get monstered by Sandilands, Goldstein, Natanui and Jacobs

Bring in another ruckman to help Bellchambers (in case Giles doesn't become good).
