carltoon spud admin is tightening up the adult sexual content rules which means no more gifs of Stack's bumps and tackles guys 😞 believe the change has come about after the death of Viney (rip) last week but it's still ****en bullshit

How Sydney Stack went from being ignored in two drafts last year to cult hero status in four games
It’s not a cheap exercise relocating a kid and you’re trying to evaluate where will they live and who will they mix with. There’s a lot that goes into it.

“Full credit to Richmond … but keep in mind they’ve got 100,000 members so budget isn’t such a big deal. For other clubs you’re weighing up risk versus reward.

I'm not sure if anyone has really highlighted this, it might be incidental to some, but this comment particularly stood out to me.

Some people tend to think that wanting and celebrating having the biggest membership in the AFL is just a big circle jerk, that it's not really that important. Well, obviously there are serious practical benefits that you can actually see on the football field. Because we are so big we can literally 'afford' to take the risk of recruiting the Sydney Stacks of football. Not every club can do that (which goes a long way in answering the frustrated question of rival supporters of 'why didn't we recruit Sydney Stack?'). Likewise would Lynch, coming from a a family of hardcore magpies, had come to Richmond if not in part because we are so massively supported and resourced.

So if anyone knows a Tiger fan who isn't a member and who needs a reason to as to why they should join, just tell em, 'Sydney Stack'.[/QUOTE]

our 100,000 members vs the Suns 10,000 members (for example) doesn't allow us to spend one dollar more on our playing list. And coaches too (I think). Our new recruits were from Tassie, WA & Melbourne. That's typical of any AFL team. Signing Stack was no risk~ all reward for RFC. Dimma deserves kudos for housing the lad, listing him, and then selecting him. Because, to watch him play is a joy. Hip and shoulders & torps. Neil Balme around the place, mullets (Baker) make me feel like its 1973 again.

UNSUNG HEROES — ROUND 6

Richmond: Sydney Stack

Four months ago Sydney Stack didn’t know where his future lay. Receiving an AFL lifeline through the SSP, Richmond has discovered a gem in the talented Tiger. The 19-year-old looked at home on Anzac Eve at the MCG collecting 12 disposals at 100 per cent efficiency. But it was his big bump on Melbourne co-captain Jack Viney that had everyone talking. It was the perfect start to the final quarter for Richmond with the midfielder instinctively collecting Viney and the Tigers taking possession.

100% efficient torp, fmd

Been so happy with our drafting over the past few years.

Had huge wraps on Balta and Higgins in the 2017 draft too and was stoked when we landed both. Balta in particular was my favourite. 2 years in a row my personal favourite players in the draft (Balta and RCD have been taken by us and ny 2nd favourites as well in Higgins and Stack.)

We are getting so good now at being able to identify bargain picks and banking on our development system and taking risks. A sign we have come a long way from playing the 'safe pick' strategy.
And Shai was my favourite in the 2016 draft.

Agree with all the criticism of that shithouse article and the gutless no-names quoted in it.

Sydney Stack is one of the most exciting talents I've seen debut for Richmond in four decades. Up there with Cotch and Dusty for assuredness from the get-go. This kid is the real deal, keep his head screwed on and we've snagged a champion for nothing.

And Ross ain't far behind. Not as exciting but to come in and be rock-solid is amazing.

Ross is actually very exciting imo

Sure he doesnt have as much flair, but i was having a good chuckle with dad with how clean and composed he is

That was on show with a bouncing ball coming his way and a defender bearing down on him waiting for him to take possession so he could immediately tackle, only for Ross to tap it over the defenders head, gather possession and dish off a perfect handball to Houli who was streaming by. It was an amazing bit of a play let alone from a 3rd gamer.

I said he wasn't far behind! "Not as exciting" as Stack is still pretty bloody exciting!

Stack looks like a top-5 pick, and Ross looks a first-rounder. All for pick 43. Hail Matt Clarke.

Saw that...pretty classy and assured for a first gamer in the heat of battle...think we have a good 'un here...

And Turner.
Turner is the kid i think will be the smokey , Not much been said about him but he has all the Tools and was the youngest player drafted and many talent watchers believe he would have been top 20 pick this year if he was a week younger.

Watch out for him in 2020/2021
