No one should get rising star down hill skiing against Carlton. Essendon fans embarrassing as usual
Just gave the same response to another Bummer melter, surprisingly he actually agreed.

I wouldn’t swap them either mate.

But this year as a whole, Walsh deserves the rising star award.
We re only 1/2 way and stacks getting better by the week , I expect he ll put some space between himself and Walsh after 11 more weeks

MB opposition posters think they have a chance to sign him . Stacky is not going anywhere

"Everyone at the club has been so welcoming. Richmond is pretty much family to me now. I just want to repay them for giving me a chance," he said.

Stack, whose manager Peos will enter talks on a contract extension during the Tigers' bye in round 14, is enjoying learning the AFL caper in defence but would eventually love to move into the midfield.

He looks such a great part of the fabric of the club already in every way, you just hope the club gives him due respect in negotiations, but you know they will.

I have watched so much professional sport over the years, often 50 or 60 hours a week. So much of it gets uninspiring when you have seen it all before, and I say that with respect to all to all of the sportsmen who make it to professional level, because it takes a lot. Occasionally you see someone who is just a complete pleasure to watch play. Not necessarily because they are better than everyone else, but because they are good and natural, and they combine a range of attractive characteristics including skill, will, courage, speed, effort, ethic, and personality. Stack is like that and I am so pleased he is playing in such a good environment and not in one of the many sports that have been completely corrupted.

Well done on your Rising Star nomination Sydney and well done Richmond FC.

That's a VERY interesting questions !!! Any expert data collectors on bf ?
It's actually a very important question. When I looked at that list I was initially a bit worried to see that Melbourne and Carlton had done it and it hadn't done them any good. But then I realised that they had been tanking and had loaded up with high draft picks. These were all bound to earn noms in their first year just as Walsh is now - but, for a team that was minor premier the year before and Premier the year before that, it's a mighty achievement.

Who gives a F if he wins it at the end of the year.
Its a great recognition during the year to show your progressing well.
Stack has bigger fish to fry like winning premierships at the Tigers.
We can leave winning RS's to Carlton. With all the #1's have they ever won one?

Love the fact that he rang his grandfather and asked permission to join in the dance at the Dreamtime game. Great head on his shoulders to ring an elder and ask about protocols etc. One thing Indigenous culture has going for it is that respect for culture, elders, uncles, aunts etc. Not bad considering all that has happened to disrupt that lineage.

How many of those back to backs were 2 rookies?
Just went back and looked and can confirm that it hasn't been done before - at least not in the years listed in this tweet. I add that caveat as I discovered two errors - Hawthorn didn't get a double nomination in 2002 and it was the Eagles not the Bulldogs who got one in 2004. So if the original tweeter missed one in another year then it's possible that that may be a rookie pair, but that would be a slim possibility. Here is a list of the years and the picks:

1993 (79 and F/S);
1997 (7, No. 3 in Pre-Draft selection - Port's first year);
2001 (13 & 32);
2003 (13 & 33);
2004 (11 & 20);
2009 (27 & 75) (14 & PSD);
2012 (14 & GWS under age);
2014 (10 [F/S] & 26);
2015 (2 & 3);
2016 (13 & 34);
2017 (6 & 6) (23 &53 [F/S]);
2018 (6 & Rookie).

There's only one rookie - Sam Murray last year (Rookied by the Swans then traded to Collingwood) and Liam Jurrah was drafted by Melbourne in the PSD.

BTW: The most interesting pair in that list is the 1993 Essendon one - a couple of no-name players called Hird and Fletcher.

So true...the day Oztraylia has an Indigenous PM is a day to look forward too...:thumbsu:
