UNSUNG HEROES — ROUND 6

Richmond: Sydney Stack

Four months ago Sydney Stack didn’t know where his future lay. Receiving an AFL lifeline through the SSP, Richmond has discovered a gem in the talented Tiger. The 19-year-old looked at home on Anzac Eve at the MCG collecting 12 disposals at 100 per cent efficiency. But it was his big bump on Melbourne co-captain Jack Viney that had everyone talking. It was the perfect start to the final quarter for Richmond with the midfielder instinctively collecting Viney and the Tigers taking possession.

It is good timing Richmond and Stack, I reckon if it was a few years ago, going that bump ten min in the last quarter less than three goals up instead of tackling and causing a stoppage, going a torpy down the line from inside def 50, fair chance he would’ve been dragged for not playing the percentages and team systems.

oh yeh, cause a tradie has NEVER ripped anyone off :drunk::drunk::drunk:

some of my mates who have been tradies for decade will openly admit they do absolutely nothing on site some days yet get paid through the nose....

dont get all high and mighty acting like only people who have been through school take advantage
No i'm posting about your last sentence...no thought given to it what so ever imo or it's flow on consequences...Who cares what people do, as long as they are happy. Is that what you tell your kids?!?
As for your Tradie mates... https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/690104-a-man-is-known-by-the-company-he-keeps

I accidentally started some shit back there. What I mean was going to private school v public school has very little impact on who you are as an individual etc. It's a trap to categorise "others" and assume they're all the same because of the group they belong to. Identity politics is crap and doesn't serve anyone. Sydney Stack plays for Richmond and seems to be a great character. If Cotch/Dimma and co can embrace everyone regardless of their background we should be able to as well. For the very reason we don't like people grouping Stacky in as just another poor indigenous kid we shouldn't do the same with Viney because of his perceived background or group identity. I bet Viney's just a kid trying to get by as skipper in a tough time a little bit like Cotch was a while ago.

Obviously we want to absolutely trash the oppo because they are the oppo but the identity politics references need to piss off.

Yeah tradie what a crap life. Get to leave school early, get paid to learn your qualification, start working 6 years + before anyone else does, have a business by the time you're 20, do untaxable work on weekends and buy 5 houses by the time ya 30. Shockin stuff! lol
Hence why I've just taken my business and marketing degree and essentially thrown it in the bin. 12 months into a Mechanical plumbing apprenticeship at 27 years old.

Good for you .Just remember too look after your body ,it's your greatest asset as a tradie .Make the most of your younger work life because there's no way you want to be on the tools into your 60's .
