believe the change has come about after the death of Viney (rip) last week but it's still ****en bullshitHow Sydney Stack went from being ignored in two drafts last year to cult hero status in four games
“It’s not a cheap exercise relocating a kid and you’re trying to evaluate where will they live and who will they mix with. There’s a lot that goes into it.
“Full credit to Richmond … but keep in mind they’ve got 100,000 members so budget isn’t such a big deal. For other clubs you’re weighing up risk versus reward.
UNSUNG HEROES — ROUND 6
Richmond: Sydney Stack
Four months ago Sydney Stack didn’t know where his future lay. Receiving an AFL lifeline through the SSP, Richmond has discovered a gem in the talented Tiger. The 19-year-old looked at home on Anzac Eve at the MCG collecting 12 disposals at 100 per cent efficiency. But it was his big bump on Melbourne co-captain Jack Viney that had everyone talking. It was the perfect start to the final quarter for Richmond with the midfielder instinctively collecting Viney and the Tigers taking possession.

Missed the rising star nomination. Again. I feel like going on a karate kicking spree on his behalf.![]()
Mad tiger supporter invades Swan Street and dishes out random punishment in old karate outfit at passers by. Best post for some time.Missed the rising star nomination. Again. I feel like going on a karate kicking spree on his behalf.![]()
And Shai was my favourite in the 2016 draft.Been so happy with our drafting over the past few years.
Had huge wraps on Balta and Higgins in the 2017 draft too and was stoked when we landed both. Balta in particular was my favourite. 2 years in a row my personal favourite players in the draft (Balta and RCD have been taken by us and ny 2nd favourites as well in Higgins and Stack.)
We are getting so good now at being able to identify bargain picks and banking on our development system and taking risks. A sign we have come a long way from playing the 'safe pick' strategy.

Agree with all the criticism of that shithouse article and the gutless no-names quoted in it.
Sydney Stack is one of the most exciting talents I've seen debut for Richmond in four decades. Up there with Cotch and Dusty for assuredness from the get-go. This kid is the real deal, keep his head screwed on and we've snagged a champion for nothing.
And Ross ain't far behind. Not as exciting but to come in and be rock-solid is amazing.
I said he wasn't far behind! "Not as exciting" as Stack is still pretty bloody exciting!Ross is actually very exciting imo
Sure he doesnt have as much flair, but i was having a good chuckle with dad with how clean and composed he is
That was on show with a bouncing ball coming his way and a defender bearing down on him waiting for him to take possession so he could immediately tackle, only for Ross to tap it over the defenders head, gather possession and dish off a perfect handball to Houli who was streaming by. It was an amazing bit of a play let alone from a 3rd gamer.

Stack looks like a top-5 pick, and Ross looks a first-rounder. All for pick 43. Hail Matt Clarke.
Saw that...pretty classy and assured for a first gamer in the heat of battle...think we have a good 'un here...Ross is actually very exciting imo

And Turner.Absolutely, and thats without even mentioning RCD who is slowly elevating his game in the vfl
fantastic drafting
Turner is the kid i think will be the smokey , Not much been said about him but he has all the Tools and was the youngest player drafted and many talent watchers believe he would have been top 20 pick this year if he was a week younger. And Turner.
He is coming along nicely.....And Turner.
Lol Robbos drunk again
Anderson is another big Cats supporter.Lol Robbos drunk again
