What i do know is
* He was passed up during his draft year even though he was considered top 10 in talent
* He struggled to come back in good shape after his 1st pre season and needed extra's to get to required fitness
* Totally ignoring the Kebab fiasco , He again came back in pathetic condition on his return to the club
* Went back home for the death of a family member 1 week after returning in crap condition and was arrested out after midnight fighting
* Again returned this year in not as expected physical condition

You mention we judge on what he is doing right now , I have done this and actually posted a glowing post about his game against Freo & North
If you think his 1st season was the best you have ever seen then you clearly dont watch alot of games. He was very good but far far away from 'BEST I HAVE EVER SEEN'

I look at it like this, Stack is not a choir boy.

Thats okay most like to find their range and explore as they are off the leash to a degree especially if they have any ability and motivation regardless of background while young.

These are pretty weird times and its very tough for youngsters to in their generation. I am happy to cut Stack some slack and support him to be honest.

I kind of like how he has handled some of his ups and downs. He seems tough and shows a bit of passion for his footy and culture. I think some of his traits are admirable to be frank. I think Stack might be more centred than some may think

Really happy for Stack and the form he has shown. His onfield performance has been assured and mature well beyond his years over recent weeks when some of our more senior players have been pretty inconsistent.

I also wonder whether he is a candidate for the striker role, he is a play maker, wins crucial contests and is creative.

I had my doubts initially about keeping him after the Perth incident but changed my mind. Proud of the Tigers for persisting with him and taking the "planted not buried" approach.

Hope so, he had another good game..one of only a few that stood up.

Bachar output early this year was great, then it was all down hill. Still think he has another year when and if fully fit.
the others (apart from stack)are not anywhere near his level yet. Stack with a proper pre season should be elite next year. Rioli still a fumble magnet but is playing much better in his new roll. I like mansell.
but we have a onfield culture problem with out cheap frees and 50s. Dimma needs to nip that in the butt - actually should’ve done it a year ago.

Was great to see them swap him for the last qtr
He was having a pretty dirty game down back and that shift forward resulted in us winning (well drawing) the game
Great maturity from stack as well not to go into is shell after not the greatest of starts to the game

it killed me watching him bust the game open in a 5 minute spell up forward. Its a blight on Dimma that in the whole 2 month collapse that he persisted with Aarts & Castagna & never once threw Syd down there

saw those vice like hands again today, that is the part of his game that always excited me most - his hard body hits and vice like hands

Could be an elite small defender. Could also be an elite small forward. I really hope he goes away and has a sensible off season. Relaxes for a bit, but then switches on and has a big pre season. This guy could be anything still. It’s up to him now. Up there with the most talented players on our list

Looked like he wasn't interested early, half efforts here and there, and that's not a massive knock, just looked like a young fella who had checked out early with the last game having zero influence on our season.

Interesting how fickle we can be in here. People thinking he was going to be traded a few weeks ago. Just goes to show that we generally don't know crap or we are overly reactive to what we've just seen (or not seen).

Stack is so useful as he can play just like Baker - back, forward, pinch hit mid. I personally like him forward but can see why he plays back to harden us up back there.

Think our starting line up in the back 6 next year could be:

Grimes Balta Broad
Rioli Vlastuin, Short

Rotating through: Miller, Mansell, Stack (swing man)
