Personally, I haven't written him off. I just want him to appreciate his position on an AFL list a little more by demonstrating he has the discipline to come back with a better fitness base, that's all. I do not think that's asking too much. We want him to be the best he can be as that would be very good indeed. Most of all, I want him to want to be the best he can be, and to do that he has to up the ante during the off-season. I personally don't care about his Tik Tok stuff at all. The guy is entitled to an outlet.

" to be aerobically not up to standard. "

"Now in his 4th year, he should have understood that. Maybe next year.....🤞"

If that's not writing him off....

You, personally feel its not to much to ask of Stack. I mean who are you to demand that of a footballer? He's been resigned by us. Your criticisms are getting to the pile on level.

Back up your point with evidence. Or back off

The shape is not literal. It means unfit, not fat. I know some guys who are so chiseled without an ounce of fat but would collapse trying to run 2km. So your appearance can have little to do with your aerobic capacity. The criticism is that by his 4th year he should be coming back with a better aerobic capacity. Does that make sense?
Show me the data you are using and I'll shut the F up.

Or is based on a P.R.E. track watcher?

In which case I was talking to a bloke who's friend's second cousin wife was a painter did some renos down at Punt Road last month or so and he reckons that the JDS might be renamed the SSS.

Not sure why you are getting so defensive
Our own high performance manager is the one who made the original comments

Peter Burge on Stack in a recent interview in the Herald Sun, saying the 21-year old “still has some work to do with consistency of preparation,” particularly around conditioning.

"Stacky is still learning the caper. He has got some work to do with consistency of preparation. I am not going to mince my words there, he has still got a bit of work to do. He is a young player learning about his preparation, he has fantastic traits in his explosiveness and he’s highly skilled but he needs to work really hard on his conditioning"

Doesn't sound like he's about to be delisted for breaching his "contract conditions".

Don’t think anyone said he would be delisted, more just his spot shouldn’t be taken for granted

Given he was only given a 1 year contract you would think he hasn’t started this year on the right foot if these are the comment that are being publicly made by a club official

You talk about "extra work". Can you publish his training program please. Just wondering how you can quantify "work" & "extra work" for me.[/QUOTE]

Whatever he was expected to do over the break but didn’t complete

Would length of Stacks contract mattered? I dunno. Maybe he's always a bit slow in gettting into shape. Not in Melbourne I don't see much. My only live observations have been in January 2020. He was toned.

Can one person ever change their conditioning to be running kms in games like Jack Graham? Ryan Gathwaite?

Here's a bit of perspective on where Sydney Stack is at in his football career at Tigerland. I'm going to compare him with RCD as they were taken in the same timeframe (roughly)

RCD- Pick 20 2018 Draft (22nd November)
Sydney Stack Pick 150 approx (Pre-season supplemental selection period) Mid February 2019

Games:
RCD:
2019- 0
2020- 0
2021- 9
(Total 9)

Sydney Stack:
2019- 17
2020- 9
2021-7
(Total 33)

Now lets read a quote from Stackman when he first got to the club:
Speaking to foxsports.com.au, he recounted how hard he was pushing himself.
“Pre-season was crazy. I trained as hard as I could and didn’t give up, so I just kept training while I was vomiting,” Stack said.
“I vomited on the boys quite a bit. I was vomiting every session right up to pre-season training finished. It was crazy.”

In 2019 most experts had him favourite for the Rising Star (made even more difficult when flogs like Brad Johnson on the commitee admitted in approx round 10 he had yet to see Stack play yet had seen Sam Walsh play several times) Stack looked unbeatable down back he would shut down opponents whilst still dazzling with flair and making the most spectacular things look easy. Stack received a Rising Star and kicked 10 goals including the game against the Saints where he kicked 4 and had us all salivating at what career he had ahead of him.
In 2019 RCD looked bung average for the entire season in the magoos bar a couple of goals in the final. Excuses about tall players take time were made and wait til he gets a tank.

In 2020 both RCD and Stack had unremarkable years. Stack played 9 games in seniors but was a pale comparison of the previous year then kebabgate happened. RCD played 0 senior games again excuses were made about tall players take time and wait til he gets a tank..

At start of 2021 I recall the club last year saying RCD was killing it at preseason and were expecting big things from him. I'd argue that he got as many games as he did last year due to our injuries. From my recollection he played one good game, several ok games and mostly sub par games which if at full strength he would've been sent back to the magoos. Now Stack's preseason was spent unfairly in jail. And then had to miss a big chunk of the opening of the season through his own fault. Once Stack cracked the seniors he never looked back he was never beaten and played some phenomenal games in a weakened defence constantly under pressure from a depleted midfield.

2021 preseason:
RCD (Crickets/ Tumbleweed when it comes to criticism)
Sydney Stack ( Slammed from all and sundry including a large number of F#$kwits on Bigfooty.

Family background:
RCD: All the love and support and hugs that 2 mums can provide. Private school educated given every opportunity to succeed in life.
Sydney Stack: Constantly moved from relative to relative, not knowing where next meals coming from, school and home life not ideal.

Skin Colour:
RCD: White.
Sydney Stack: Indigenous.

Now I expect big things from a 1st Rounder such as RCD, I dont even expect someone taken at Stack's pick to not be delisted after one season. Stack has shown glimpses that he could be one of the games absolute elite players in all positions he's tall enough to play. RCD has shown very little and I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't make it. I do wonder where all the venom for RCD is about where's his tank???? Some might be hard on Stack because they expect alot from him because of what he's shown he can do. However, anyone who thinks there's not some part that's race based is delusional. I could care less for any excuses/ justifications from alot of the flogs who've been slamming him on Bigfooty. How about looking at it from a glass half full perspective of what a great return on a minimal investment thus far? I fail to see an equivalent amount of venom for our failed 1st rounders and early picks who are duds.

Last thing:
RCD has had 3 full preseasons (still waiting on that tank and for him to prove he was worthy of a 1st round)
Stack has had one full preseason.

That is just wrong according to track watchers who were there unlike us at home. Stack was up with the running early while Soldo was no doubt at the back of the pack. Then he blew up. So whilst not fit enough to go the entire session at the pace he set early, didn't mean he wasn't beating Soldo and others no doubt for a good deal of the session. Your misrepresentation is quite exaggerated given what others who were there have said. Sure he is not as fit as everyone would like, but you make it sound like he can't even beat a lumbering Soldo around a footy oval.
Dude the soldo comment was tongue in cheek

Stack has had one full preseason.
Great analysis. But I'll unfortunately just grab your last point.
No one is doubting his football ability. The reason he didn't do a preseason last year was because he was in jail. So yes, can he become a much better AFL player, perhaps top 5 brownlow finisher, than RCD, no doubt. But will he?

I don't think discipline is what Sydney needs at the moment.
Yep first week back and what he needs is to be held to a lower standard of fitness, self application and dedication than his equals. Just the personality type that will grow in a void of expectation, order and certainty. Just encourage him to do as he feels and don't forget the participation awards 🤯🤪

Are you seriously comparing positional training to a Player that consistently has come back and proven he has done SFA training during the off season
The issue with Stack is he is totally ignoring club rules and standards when away from the club.

But i suppose we should give him special treatment because he is a tik tok star FMD
What you are missing is when he got sent away frm the Gold Coast along with Kallum Koleman kones and came back to the club , He was again in terrible shape and the club sent him away to WA. He was in terrible condition at a time you would think sh!t i need to be tip top after the kebab fiasco

The club put conditions on his 1 year contract and he again comes back under done. Maybe we just call a spade a spade
Kid has massive talent but no work ethic away from the club and players like that dont usually last long at this level

He better have a great year in 2022 otherwise he will find his way onto the scrap heap of players that just didnt want it bad enough
Ignoring club rules & egregiously low training standard by Syd wasn't enough to trigger the conditions. Wonder what they are.

They are also last year’s photos…Jeep top and no tattoo on the Adam’s apple kind of gives that away…..So that’s piss poor of you to do that.
It was stated in the post above that it was from preseason 2020

Condition is only a 1 year contract as a rookie and certain standards attached to his fitness , I think his next contract will be whats triggered as they certainly wont be ding anything with list lodgements finished

Question his fitness all you want, but the attack on a young kid doing what most other kids his age are doing and posting on tiktok is plainly bizarre.

Every player has interests and hobbies, they aren't robots who spend 24 hours a day obsessing over footy. I don't mind Cornes has much as most probably do, he's just trying to get a reaction most of the time, but this is a rubbish take. You might think tiktok is dumb and a waste of time, but if he enjoys it and it makes him happy then who cares. The whole argument he is hurting or impacting the club by posting videos is laughable. Can't claim to care about player welfare and mental health and then turn around and attack kids for non-issues like this.

Stacky cops a lot of crap, a lot of it is self-inflected and warranted, but this is just bizarre.

except fireman and he is just trying to get clicks which is his job i suppose
